Tethered vagina syndrome is an iatrogenic, but poorly defined condition that usually develops after surgical procedures performed on the anterior vaginal wall. Loss of elasticity as a result of scarring in the bladder neck-urethra is blamed for its pathogenesis. Patients often present with typical, massive uncontrollable urine loss and have specific examination findings.

Regular monitoring of contaminated sites is particularly important in anthrax-endemic parts of the world, such as Kars province in eastern Türkiye, where the Veterinary Microbiology Department of Kafkas University has conducted an anthrax surveillance programme for over 30 years. We reviewed the microbiological results of 232 soil samples collected during 2009-2023, from sites known to be contaminated with spores following burial or butchering of infected animal carcasses.

In this study, we compared patients who underwent cystocele repair with the rug-weaving plication technique, a natural tissue repair method implemented since 2022 for anterior prolapse, with those treated using conventional colporrhaphy.
Methods: We retrospectively reviewed the data of 65 patients who underwent anterior vaginal wall repair with the rug-weaving plication technique (n = 33, Group 1) or conventional colporrhaphy (n = 32, Group 2).
Background & Aims: In view of the global demographic shift, a scientific symposium was organised by the European Society for Clinical Nutrition and Metabolism (ESPEN) to address nutrition-related challenges of the older population and provide an overview of the current state of knowledge.
Methods: Eighteen nutrition-related issues of the ageing global society were presented by international experts during the symposium and summarised in this report.
Results: Anorexia of ageing, dysphagia, malnutrition, frailty, sarcopenia, sarcopenic obesity, and the metabolic syndrome were highlighted as major nutrition-related geriatric syndromes.
Nucleic acid amplification, the bedrock of biotechnology and molecular diagnostics, surges in applications-especially isothermal approaches-heightening the demand for advanced and precisely engineered methods. Here, a novel approach for amplifying DNA with multiarm priming and looping optimization of nucleic acid (AMPLON) is presented. AMPLON relies on a novel polymeric material with unique set of multiarm polyethylene glycol-DNA primers for efficient DNA amplification under isothermal conditions.

Clinicians are in need of guidance that will ease the application of medical nutrition therapy. The pre- and post-graduate curriculum for medical nutrition therapy is limited in most regions, worldwide.

In order to facilitate the application and success of medical nutrition therapy, the Turkish Clinical Enteral & Parenteral Nutrition Society (KEPAN) planned a report that is short, is clear, and has clear-cut recommendations that will guide health care professionals in the indications, choice, practical application, follow-up, and stopping of enteral nutrition.
Methods: The enteral nutrition consensus report on enteral nutrition use in medical nutrition therapy was developed by a study group (12 working group academicians and 17 expert group academicians) under the organization of KEPAN.
Three-dimensional (3D) printing is a rapidly growing technology with a significant capacity for translational applications in both biology and medicine. 3D-printed living and non-living materials are being widely tested as a potential replacement for conventional solutions for testing and combating antimicrobial resistance (AMR). The precise control of cells and their microenvironment, while simulating the complexity and dynamics of an environment, provides an excellent opportunity to advance the modeling and treatment of challenging infections and other health conditions.

There is no established accreditation program for nutrition support teams (NSTs) at national and international levels. In order to increase the standards of NSTs, developing an accreditation program is being planned by the Turkish Society of Clinical Enteral & Parenteral Nutrition (KEPAN).

Materials And Methods: Seventy-two patients diagnosed with PCOS and age-matched 72 healthy non-PCOS were included in the study. The PCOS group was divided into two groups as having metabolic syndrome or not.
Background: With the global increase of cesarean delivery rates, the long-term effects of cesarean delivery have started to become clearer. One of the most prominent complications of cesarean delivery in recurrent pregnancies is uterine rupture. Assessing the risk of uterine rupture by accurately predicting dehiscence is very important to prevent untimely operations and/or maternal and fetal complications.

Currently, 50%-70% of clinical isolates of are extensively drug-resistant, and available antibiotic options against infections are limited. There is still a need to discover specific bacterial antigenic proteins that could be effective vaccine candidates in human infection.

The majority of vaccination strategies have focused upon the antibody response to the PA subunit. We have used a panel of humanised HLA class II transgenic mouse strains to define HLA-DR-restricted and HLA-DQ-restricted CD4+ T cell responses to the immunodominant epitopes of PA.

Objective(s): To compare the presence and severity of striae gravidarum in pregnant women with and without stress urinary incontinence and to evaluate whether there is a relationship between the severity of striae gravidarum and the severity of incontinence in pregnant women with stress urinary incontinence.
Study Design: Healthy primigravid pregnant women with an uneventful singleton pregnancy at 36-37 weeks of gestation were included. All women were asked two questions to assess the presence of urinary incontinence.

Methods: A total of 938 patients diagnosed with acute pancreatitis (AP) between 2014 and 2021 were included in the study.
Objective: CrossFit is a popular sportamong women. It has numerous benefits, but it is unclearwhat effects it has on the pelvic floor, since physicalexercise may be a risk factor for urinary incontinence. The aim of this study was to determine theoverall prevalence of urinary incontinence in femaleCrossFit practitioners.

Objective: To evaluate the anatomical results of Manchester Fothergill operation performed due to cervical elongation cases without uterine descensus and its effects on quality of life and sexual function.
Materials And Methods: Thirty-six women who underwent Manchester Fothergill operation for cervical elongation without uterine descensus were analyzed retrospectively. Pre- and postoperative Pelvic Organ Prolapse-Quantification (POP-Q) measurements, Prolapse Quality of Life (P-QoL) Questionnaire and Pelvic Organ Prolapse/Urinary Incontinence Sexual Questionnaire-12 (PISQ-12) scores were collected.
