Background And Purpose: Valvular heart disease (VHD) is an important cause of morbidity and mortality. Echocardiography is the reference standard for VHD diagnosis but is not universally accessible. Manual cardiac auscultation is inadequate for screening VHD.

It was found that small gaseous FC molecules like F-propane and F-butane penetrate phospholipid monolayers and accumulate between the alkyl chains and form islands. This clustering process can trigger the formation of lipid crystallites at low initial surface pressures.

Methods: Medical reports of patients with early-stage cervical cancer who have undergone surgery between 1998 and 2020 in Akdeniz University Faculty of Medicine Gynecological Oncology Clinic were reviewed retrospectively. A total of 292 cases were identified and included in the study.
The SARS-CoV-2 virus has infected more than 235 million people since it was accepted as a pandemic in March 2020. Although a milder disease is seen in the pediatric age group, the extent of lung damage and its long-term effects are still unknown. In this study, persistent respiratory symptoms and pulmonary function tests were investigated in children with COVID-19.

Methods: During the COVID-19 pandemic, the pathological reports of the appendectomy materials of 588 patients over the age of 15 who applied to the emergency department between January 1, 2020, and June 1, 2021, were examined. A total of 565 patients with a diagnosis of acute (AA), subacute (SA), or perforated appendicitis (PA) were included and divided into three groups according to diagnosis.
Background: The purpose of the study was to examine the effects of continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) treatment on inflammation parameters in patients with obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS).
Methods: Patients aged 18 to 65 years who underwent polysomnography (PSG) in the sleep clinic between January 1, 2019, and December 31, 2019, were included in the study. Patients with severe OSAS initiated treatment with CPAP.
Objective: The present study aimed to examine the effects of cDMARD and bDMARD therapy on both gene expressions and protein levels of TNF-α, IL-6, IL-10 and fatty acid levels in patients with RA.
Method: Plasma TNF-α, IL-6, and IL-10 levels were examined by the ELISA method, while TNF-α, IL-6, and IL-10 gene expression levels were examined by RT-qPCR, and fatty acid levels were examined by GC/MS.
Results: IL-10 gene expression levels significantly increased in RA patients receiving cDMARD treatment compared to those of the control group.
Background And Purpose: Machine learning models have been used to diagnose schizophrenia. The main purpose of this research is to introduce an effective schizophrenia hand-modeled classification method.
Method: A public electroencephalogram (EEG) signal data set was used in this work, and an automated schizophrenia detection model is presented using a cyclic group of prime order with a modulo 17 operator.
Objective: This study aims to compare the efficacy and complications between mesh obtained from the autologous rectus fascia and synthetic mesh used in transobturator tape procedure in the surgical treatment of urinary stress incontinence.
Methods: A total of 62 female patients who underwent operation due to urinary stress incontinence were included in the study. From these, 31 patients underwent autologous rectus fascia with mid-urethral sling (Group 1), and the remaining 31 patients underwent the same operation using synthetic multilaminar propylene sling (Group 2).
Kidney stone is a commonly seen ailment and is usually detected by urologists using computed tomography (CT) images. It is difficult and time-consuming to detect small stones in CT images. Hence, an automated system can help clinicians to detect kidney stones accurately.

Methods: A retrospective cohort study was performed including children diagnosed with nonsyndromic odontogenic cysts between January 2016 and December 2020.
Background: The Meta-analysis Global Group in Chronic Heart Failure (MAGGIC) is a scoring system that is easy to use in outpatient or inpatient settings and was developed to predict the survival of heart failure (HF) patients after hospitalization.
Aim: This study aims to determine the prognostic significance of MAGGIC risk score combined with electrocardiography (ECG) parameters in decompensated patients with heart failure with reduced left ventricular ejection fraction (HFrEF) who were hospitalized for worsening HF.
Methods: A total of 562 HF patients with New York Heart Association (NYHA) II-IV functional class who were discharged after hospitalization for decompensated HF between 2013 and 2018 in a single center were included.
The purpose of this study is to determine the volumes of primary brain regions associated with smell and taste in Alzheimer's and Parkinson's patients and healthy controls using MR imaging and examine volumetric changes in comparison to smell/taste questionnaire and test results and endocannabinoid (EC) levels. The study included 15 AD patients with mild cognitive dysfunction scored as 18 ≤ MMSE ≤ 23, 15 PD patients with scores of 18 < MoCA < 26 and 18 ≤ MMSE ≤ 23, and 15 healthy controls. A taste and smell questionnaire was given to the participants, and their taste and smell statuses were examined using the Sniffin' Sticks smell identification test and Burghart Taste Strips.

Materials And Methods: Patients who underwent living donor kidney transplant between January 2010 and March 2020 were evaluated retrospectively. Group A included kidney transplant recipients with 6 HLA mismatches, and group B included kidney transplant recipients with 0 to 5 HLA mismatches.
Objectives: We investigated patients with genitourinary cancer after kidney transplant and the effects of immunosuppression reduction and switching to mechanistic target of rapamycin inhibitors.
Materials And Methods: We retrospectively evaluated kidney transplant recipients seen at our center between January 2000 and January 2020. Patients with <1 year of follow-up were excluded.
Background: The acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) disease seriously affected worldwide health. It remains an important worldwide concern as the number of patients infected with this virus and the death rate is increasing rapidly. Early diagnosis is very important to hinder the spread of the coronavirus.

Non-invasive synchronized intermittent mandatory ventilation(nSIMV) mode, which includes inspiratory pressure in addition to positive end expiratory pressure with/without pressure support provided in the non-invasive continuous positive airway pressure plus/pressure support(nCPAP/PS) mode can be effective in hypercarbia and the associated changes in consciousness. This study aimed to demonstrate the efficacy of nSIMV in ACPE.

For small fields, the concept S was introduced based on measuring dosimetric field width (full-width half maximum, FWHM) of the cardinal axis of the beam profiles. The pros and cons of this concept are evaluated in small fields and compared with the traditional ES using area and perimeter (4A/P) method based on geometric field size settings, for example, light field settings.

The majority of human genes do not code for proteins. However, noncoding transcripts play important roles in ageing that significantly increases the risk for CVDs.

A labelless biosensor based on the surface plasmon resonance (SPR) signal from the specific affinity interaction of an aptamer and a soluble ICAM-1 protein was developed for blood samples. The developed aptasensor provided real-time information on the concentration of the ICAM-1 protein in blood when integrated to a purification step based on a magnetic pull-down separation.
