Two Case Reports of Patients With Transverse Myelitis as a Complication of SARS-CoV-2 Infection.

Transverse myelitis is a nontraumatic spinal cord injury that presents with sudden onset weakness, sensory deficits, and autonomic dysfunction. It can be caused by multiple etiologies including malignancy, autoimmune disorders, viral, bacterial, or fungal infections, and environmental factors. In this article, we describe cases of two elderly male patients affected by the SARS-CoV-2 virus.

Pleasures and pounds: an exploratory study.

This study investigated the hypothesis that overweight college students and normal weight "restrained" students, particularly those susceptible to stress related overeating and binge episodes, have a restricted range of pleasurable activities available for positive reinforcement of behaviors other than eating. The major finding was that overweight students in a behavioral weight control program reported less enjoyment of pleasant activities than did normal weight classroom control subjects. The relationship of the amount and variety of pleasurable activities to subsequent body weight fluctuations, however, was ambiguous.

Anxiety reduction in hospitalized schizophrenics through thermal biofeedback and relaxation training.

Biofeedback training and muscular relaxation have therapeutic value for general reduction of tension in non-patient and patient populations. The present study investigated the efficacy of thermal biofeedback and relaxation as adjunctive treatments to antipsychotic medication for reduction of anxiety in 40 hospitalized schizophrenics who were randomly assigned assigned to four groups: biofeedback, relaxation, biofeedback and relaxation, and minimal treatment control. Significant reduction in anxiety followed treatment, but there were no between-group differences.
