Introduction: Erectile dysfunction can cause self-withdrawal and decreased quality of life. Patients who do not respond to pharmacological therapy and other conservative treatments are urged to undergo penile prosthesis implantation. Malleable penile prosthesis was the first prosthesis developed, but then inflatable penile prosthesis was developed to give a more natural erection.

Giant long-standing urethral calculus without urinary retention: A case report.

Introduction And Importance: In this case report, we found a giant urethral stone that lasted for ten years without urinary retention and was admitted to the hospital with a non-urinary main complaint.

Case Presentation: We reported a 53-year-old patient, initially admitted to the emergency room because of decreased consciousness. Notably, the patient also presented with a bulged suprapubic area.

An ejaculatory duct cyst is a rare and challenging problem for a urologist. Diagnosing these cases may be difficult as prior case reports showed that the condition has various clinical presentations from asymptomatic to major complications, such as recurrent urinary tract infections and infertility. We aimed to report a 26-year-old married man with seemingly unknown infertility, which was confirmed to be due to an ejaculatory duct cyst obstructing both ejaculatory ducts.

High-frequency micro-ultrasound: a novel method to assess external urethral sphincter function in rats following simulated birth injury.

Aims: We evaluated external urethral sphincter (EUS) function using high-frequency micro-ultrasound (US) in rats that were either uninjured (Control, C) or underwent vaginal distension (VD) as a substitute for vaginal birth injury induced stress urinary incontinence (SUI).

Methods: Thirteen female nulliparous Sprague-Dawley rats of 12 weeks were divided into two groups, either C (n = 6) or VD (n = 7). Vaginal balloon distension was performed under pentobarbital anesthesia for 4 hours.

Methods: The safety and efficacy of tamsulosin (0.2 mg) and doxazosin (2 mg) was determined after once daily administration for 6 weeks in an open-label, randomized, multicenter study of 101 men with BPH.

From its inception in 2001, the Conference on Asian Trends in Prostate Cancer Hormone Therapy has served as an annual forum for Asian urologists to compare data on prostate cancer and to discuss issues regarding the use of hormone therapy. The 3rd conference, held in Tokyo in December 2003, began with participants from China, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Singapore, and Taiwan presenting QOL data deriving from a survey of patients with prostate cancer. For this purpose, each country translated the Functional Assessment of Cancer Therapy-Prostate (FACT-P) questionnaire into its own language.

Among the aims of the 2nd Conference on Asian Trends in Prostate Cancer Hormone Therapy, Hong Kong, December 7-8, 2002, was to lay the groundwork for eventually having cooperative or collaborative studies of prostate cancer specifically in Asian patients. The conference was divided into 2 sessions. In the first session, entitled "Current Status of Therapy for Prostate Cancer in Asian Countries," the results of analysis of 100 patients with prostate cancer enrolled in the Patients Registration System is each of the 6 participating Asian countries were discussed.
