Despite the potential of oral immunotherapy against food allergy, adverse reactions and loss of desensitization hinder its clinical uptake. Dysbiosis of the gut microbiota is implicated in the increasing prevalence of food allergy, which will need to be regulated to enable for an effective oral immunotherapy against food allergy. Here we report an inulin gel formulated with an allergen that normalizes the dysregulated ileal microbiota and metabolites in allergic mice, establishes allergen-specific oral tolerance and achieves robust oral immunotherapy efficacy with sustained unresponsiveness in food allergy models.

This study investigated the diagnostic utility of plasma NfL to differentiate behavioural variant frontotemporal dementia (bvFTD, a neurodegenerative disorder commonly misdiagnosed initially as PPD), from PPD, and performance of large normative/reference data sets and models.
Methods: Plasma NfL was analysed in major depressive disorder (MDD, = 42), bipolar affective disorder (BPAD, = 121), treatment-resistant schizophrenia (TRS, = 82), bvFTD ( = 22), and compared to the reference cohort (Control Group 2, = 1926, using GAMLSS modelling), and age-matched controls (Control Group 1, = 96, using general linear models).
Objective: People with neuropsychiatric symptoms often experience delay in accurate diagnosis. Although cerebrospinal fluid neurofilament light (CSF NfL) shows promise in distinguishing neurodegenerative disorders (ND) from psychiatric disorders (PSY), its accuracy in a diagnostically challenging cohort longitudinally is unknown.
Methods: We collected longitudinal diagnostic information (mean = 36 months) from patients assessed at a neuropsychiatry service, categorising diagnoses as ND/mild cognitive impairment/other neurological disorders (ND/MCI/other) and PSY.
Cyclic dinucleotides (CDNs), as one type of Stimulator of Interferon Genes (STING) pathway agonist, have shown promising results for eliciting immune responses against cancer and viral infection. However, the suboptimal drug-like properties of conventional CDNs, including their short in vivo half-life and poor cellular permeability, compromise their therapeutic efficacy. Methods: A cross-sectional survey examining demographic, employment and mental health characteristics of HCWs in a large metropolitan hospital in Australia.
Results: HCWs showed significant symptoms of moderate-severe level depression (21%), anxiety (20%) and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD; 29%), associated with burnout, prior psychiatric history, profession and resilience.

To understand mechanisms involved in attracting male interest, we examined c-Fos (nuclear activation), ELOVL5 (enzyme involved in pheromone synthesis) and oestradiol receptors (ER) using immunohistochemistry on ewe vulval tissue at 0, 31 and 40 hr in the ovarian follicular phase with or without exposure to LPS at 28 hr (5 groups of 4 ewes per group). While there was intense staining for immunoreactive (IR)-c-Fos and IR-ELOVL5 in the vulval epithelium and sebaceous glands, there were no differences in intensity between groups of ewes.
