Experiments on animals have been carried out to investigate the hemodynamic changes during manual abdominal compression (AC) under conditions of heart fibrillation and acute heart failure. The possibility to increase the efficacy of left ventricular bypass (LVB) has been studied. Manual AC enhanced the pressure and blood flow in low-pressure compartments and increased aortic systolic and diastolic pressure.

The experience of the use of noninvasive assisted circulation in patients with cardiac pathology is summarized. It has been demonstrated that rhythmic pneumo-compression of the lower extremities, abdominal compression, muscular electrical stimulation of the lower extremities and the abdomen have a pronounced effect on circulation compartments with low pressure. All the above pre-determines the role of these techniques in the management of cardiac failure and in intensive care.

The data on the drug sensitivity of 517 staphylococcal strains isolated from the prostate secretion, separate contents of the right and left seminal vesicles, ejaculate and urine of 250 male patients with inflammatory diseases of the genitalia are presented. It is shown that aminoglycoside antibiotics, rifampicin, lincomycin and nitrofurans are the drugs of choice in the treatment of such patients. The resistance of the staphylococcal strains to 14 main antibacterial drugs widely used in the clinical practice was studied for a period of 1971--1978.

Penetration of benemycin (rifampicin) into the prostate secretion and ejaculate of patients with chronic bacterial prostatitis was studied. It was found that oral administration of the drug in a dose of 300 mg 2 times a day provided bacteriostatic concentrations of the antibiotic in the sexual gland excretions and the treatment efficacy of patients with prostatitis.

Trauma inflicted to blood in different method of assisted circulation was studied in experiments and in the clinic. Morphological disturbances of red blood cells and changes in their aggregation properties were revealed. Left ventricular shunt and aorto-aortic counter-pulsation are attended with increased aggregation properties of blood platelets.
