In this report, red-emitting alumina nanophosphors doped with Mn and Mg (AlO:Mn, Mg) are synthesized by a hydrothermal method using a Pluronic surfactant. The prepared samples are ceramic-sintered at various temperatures. X-ray diffraction shows that AlO:Mn, Mg annealed at 500 °C exhibits a cubic γ-AlO phase with the space group 3-227.

In the supermarket, a fruit classification system may be used to help cashiers and customer to identify the fruit species, origin, ripeness, and prices. Some methods, such as image processing and NIRS (near-infrared spectroscopy) are already used to classify fruit.

Methods: We conducted a retrospective study at an intensive care center in Ho Chi Minh City that urgently built by Bach Mai Hospital during the COVID-19 outbreak in Vietnam, when the Delta variant predominated.
We reported a case of a 48-year-old female patient admitted to the hospital due to balance disorder which progressed rapidly within 1 week. Cerebral magnetic resonance imaging showed significant atrophy and hyperintensities at the middle cerebellar peduncles and the "hot cross bun" sign of the pons. The final diagnosis was probable multiple system atrophy, cerebellar subtype.

Clinical, histological, and direct immunofluorescence (DIF) studies are essential in establishing an accurate diagnosis of ABD, which is essential for its clinical management. Our study objective was to perform a systematic evaluation of ABD cases in a patient population at an academic medical center in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, and determine the degree of concordance of clinical, histological, and DIF findings in ABD.

Synthesized titania nanoparticles were thoroughly characterized by XRD, FT-IR, HR-TEM, TEM-EDX, SEM with EDX mapping, BET, and ζ potential measurements. The adsorption of cationic surfactant, cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB), on TiO was studied under various pH and ionic strength conditions.

Intramural course of the proximal left coronary artery is considered a high-risk morphology. It is associated with a slit-like ostium and elliptical shape of the proximal artery.

There are limited data on the etiology of viral conjunctivitis in Vanuatu, a country in the South Pacific Ocean. Patients presenting to one of two Vanuatu health centers with presumed infectious conjunctivitis were eligible if symptom onset was within 14 days of screening.

The COVID-19 pandemic has been the largest infectious disease epidemic to affect the human race since the great influenza pandemic of 1918-19 and is close to approaching the number of deaths from the earlier epidemic. A review of available data and the numerous currently available studies on COVID-19 shows that the rate of clinical cases is about 10% greater in females than males in Asia. However, the number of deaths is greater in males than in females.

In recent years, biodegradable nanomaterials have exhibited remarkable promise for drug administration to tumors due to their high drug-loading capacity, biocompatibility, biodegradability, and clearance. This review will discuss and summarize the trends in utilizing biodegradable nanomaterials for anticancer drug delivery, including biodegradable periodic mesoporous organosilicas (BPMOs) and metal-organic frameworks (MOFs). The distinct structure and features of BPMOs and MOFs will be initially evaluated, as well as their use as delivery vehicles for anticancer drug delivery applications.

Seroprevalence was further compared with that of an urban area that had no cases reported for the past decade. Carriage prevalence was 1.

Doxycycline is the most commonly selected antibiotic for the treatment of rosacea. As there is no established standard of care treatment dose for rosacea, prescribed doses of doxycycline vary widely.

We evaluated gut microbiomes in children participating in a randomized controlled trial (RCT) of azithromycin versus amoxicillin for severe acute malnutrition. Methods: The study included 62 children with postoperative CTA performed at a median of 3 months (interquartile range, 3-4 months) after unroofing (n = 45) and TAR (n = 17). HRAFs included slitlike ostium, intramural course, acute angle takeoff (<45), interarterial course, proximal stenosis >50%, or course through a thickened intercoronary pillar.
Background: Myocardial infarction (MI) is among the leading causes of death worldwide. Following MI, necrotic cardiomyocytes are replaced by a stiff collagen-rich scar. Compared to collagen, the extracellular matrix protein elastin has high elasticity and may have more favorable properties within the cardiac scar.

Methods And Results: We queried our institutional database between January 2008 and December 2018. Non-compacted (NC)-to-compacted (C) (NC/C) myocardium ratios were calculated and our tool was used to calculate fractal dimension (FD), total mass ratio (TMR), and composite surface ratios (SRcomp).

To address this issue, we developed a method to stabilize AAV serotype 9 (AAV9) in a film matrix that can be stored at ambient temperature and administered by systemic injection.
Methods: AAV9 expressing the luciferase transgene was mixed with formulations, poured into molds and films dried under aseptic conditions.

In the setting of anomalous aortic origin of a coronary artery, this is particularly concerning as it inflicts sudden loss of healthy young lives. View Article and Find Full Text PDFFlagellin activates the immune system through Toll-like receptor 5 (TLR5) and can work as an adjuvant for subunit vaccines. In this study, we tested the adjuvancy of two different N-terminal fragments of flagellin, (1) FliC, residues 1-99, and (2) FliC, residues 1-176, to incorporate larger areas of the hotspot region for potentially higher levels of TLR5 activation and immune response. A truncated version of the VP2 protein (name VP2, residues 199-356) of the Infectious bursal disease virus (IBDV) was genetically linked to the flagellin constructs, and the immune response was evaluated in chickens.
