Hydrogen-bond-driven 1D assembly of carbon nanotubes dispersed in organic solvents remains challenging owing to difficulties associated with achieving high oxidation levels and uniform dispersion. Here, we introduced a bioinspired wet-spinning method that utilizes highly oxidized single-walled carbon nanotubes dispersed in organic solvents without superacid or dispersants. By incorporating submicrometer-sized graphene oxide nanosheets, we facilitated the ejection of 1.

The conventional carbonization process for synthesizing hard carbons (HCs) requires high-temperature furnace operations exceeding 1000 °C, leading to excessive energy consumption and lengthy processing times, which necessitates the exploration of more efficient synthesis methods. This study demonstrates the rapid preparation of HC anodes using intense pulsed light (IPL)-assisted photothermal carbonization without the prolonged and complex operations typical of traditional carbonization methods. A composite film of microcrystalline cellulose (MCC) and single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) is carbonized at high temperatures in less than 1 min.

Introduction: Prosthetic joint infection (PJI) is one of the most common and detrimental complications of total knee replacement arthroplasty (TKA). Despite extensive efforts, including two-stage reimplantation, to eradicate PJI, it still recurs in a substantial number of patients. However, the risk factors of recurrence after two-stage reimplantation of the knee have not been established.

Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) has advocated the development of in vitro assays that mimic in vivo hepatic metabolism to eventually replace classical animal tests. In response to this need, we established a 3D mouse liver organoid (mLO) platform that mimics the animal model and is distinct from existing models.

Members of the Anopheles Hyrcanus Group, Culex pipiens complex, and Culex tritaeniorhynchus are prevalent vector species in the Republic of Korea (ROK), transmitting Plasmodium vivax and various arboviruses. Extensive use of insecticides to control these mosquitoes has led to insecticide resistance. In this study, we monitored 3 target site mutations associated with insecticide resistance (kdr for pyrethroid resistance, ace1 for organophosphate resistance, and rdl for phenylpyrazole resistance) in these mosquito groups over four consecutive years to understand the seasonal dynamics of resistance in different areas with distinct ecological characteristics.

However, no study has been designed to predict the development of contralateral KOA (cKOA). The authors hypothesized that specific risk factors for cKOA development exist and that it could be accurately predicted with the assistance of machine learning.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFLaser-induced graphene (LIG) has attracted considerable attention for its use in flexible and stretchable sensors, owing to its electrical/mechanical properties and scalable fabrication processes. Although laser scanning facilitates the formation of LIG and its strain sensor, the strain-sensing sensitivity enhancement of LIG remains limited by the material's properties and structural design. In this study, we demonstrate a substantial improvement in sensitivity that was achieved by fabricating a LIG using ZnO nanoparticle (NP)-assisted photothermal enhancement.

Importance: Recent articles have highlighted the existence of pelvic floor myofascial dysfunction in women presenting with pelvic floor disorders.
Objective: The aim of the study was to evaluate whether younger age is associated with pelvic floor muscle dysfunction in women with lower urinary tract symptoms, including urinary urgency, frequency, nocturia, and urinary incontinence.
Study Design: This retrospective cohort study included women seeking an initial outpatient urogynecology evaluation for urinary symptoms from 8/2018 to 2/2022.
Cancer causes over 10 million deaths annually worldwide and remains a significant global health challenge. This study investigated advanced immunotherapy strategies, focusing on mRNA vaccines that target tumor-specific antigens to activate the immune system. We developed a novel mRNA vaccine using O,O'-dimyristyl-N-lysyl aspartate (DMKD) to improve stability and phosphatidylserine (PS) to enhance antigen presentation to immune cells.

However, previous models have not been properly validated with an external data set or have reported poor predictive performances. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to design a machine learning model for knee osteoarthritis progression, focusing on high validation quality and clinical applicability.

Treatment includes both non-medication and pharmacological interventions, with international guidelines recommending cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I) as the first-line treatment.
Objective: To describe current insomnia treatment practices in South Korea, focusing on pharmacological and non-medication treatments, and to identify gaps in guideline implementation.

Sleep is one of the most essential physiological phenomena for maintaining health. Sleep disturbances, such as insomnia, are often accompanied by psychiatric or physical conditions such as impaired attention, anxiety, and stress. Medication used to treat insomnia have concerns about potential side effects with long-term use, so interest in the use of alternative medicine is increasing.

Recently, a plug-in module (PIM) that can be integrated into convolutional neural-network-based or transformer-based networks has been shown to provide strong discriminative regions for fine-grained classification, with results that outperformed the previous deep learning models. PIM utilizes each pixel of an image as an independent feature and can subsequently better classify images with minor differences.
