Aims: The food-born trematode Opisthorchis felineus colonizes bile ducts of the liver of fish-eating mammals including humans. There is growing evidence that this liver fluke is a risk factor for cholangiocarcinoma (CCA). Cancer cell lines are necessary for drug screening and for identifying protein markers of CCA.

Background: The Nobori biolimus-eluting stent (BES) is a biodegradable polymer drug-eluting stent (DES). Several studies have shown its noninferiority in comparison with durable polymer DES.

Aim: We sought to investigate the efficacy and the safety of Nobori BES in an all-comer population undergoing a percutaneous coronary intervention.

Objectives: This study aimed to evaluate the influence of preserved additional pulmonary blood flow (APBF) on survival after bidirectional cavopulmonary shunt (BCPS) and completion of Fontan circulation.

Methods: From March 2003 and April 2015, 156 patients with a single ventricle underwent BCPS. After performing propensity score analysis (1:1) for the entire sample, 50 patients with APBF (APBF group) were matched with 50 patients without APBF (no-APBF group).

Remote ischaemic preconditioning (RIPC) gained attention as a possibility to reduce myocardial injury after a subsequent sustained episode of myocardial ischaemia. This prospective randomized study was carried out to assess whether RIPC reduces myocardial injury in coronary artery bypass grafting patients. Eighty patients were assigned to remote preconditioning or control treatment.
