Self-standardization of quality of bacterial cellulose produced by Medusomyces gisevii in nutrient media derived from Miscanthus biomass.

Bacterial cellulose (BC) was synthesized from biomass of Miscanthus grown in West Siberia. Miscanthus biomass was pretreated at atmospheric pressure with 4 wt.% solutions of HNO and NaOH in one and two stages.

Model evidence of a superconducting state with a full energy gap in small cuprate islands.

We investigate subdominant order parameters stabilizing at low temperatures in nanoscale high-T(c) cuprate islands, motivated by the recent observation of a fully gapped state in nanosized YBa(2)Cu(3)O(7-δ) [D. Gustafsson et al., Nature Nanotech.

Crossed Andreev reflection and charge imbalance in diffusive normal-superconducting-normal structures.

We formulate a microscopic theory of nonlocal electron transport in three-terminal diffusive normal-superconducting-normal (NSN) structures with arbitrary interface transmissions. At low energies epsilon, we predict strong enhancement of nonlocal spectral conductance g_{12} proportional, variant1/epsilon due to quantum interference of electrons in disordered N terminals. In contrast, nonlocal resistance R_{12} remains smooth at small epsilon and, furthermore, is found to depend neither on parameters of normal-superconducting interfaces nor on those of N terminals.

Full counting statistics for a single-electron transistor: nonequilibrium effects at intermediate conductance.

We evaluate the current distribution for a single-electron transistor with intermediate strength tunnel conductance. Using the Schwinger-Keldysh approach and the drone (Majorana) fermion representation, we account for the renormalization of system parameters. Nonequilibrium effects induce a lifetime broadening of the charge-state levels, which suppress large current fluctuations.
