Background And Objectives: O1 or non O1/non O139 is found in water ecosystems where it colonizes phytoplankton and has different lifestyle. This study aimed to investigate the impact of some algae extracts on the survival/growth of both strains.
Materials And Methods: Algae extracts consisting of three fractions, F1 containing chlorophyll-a, F2 containing chlorophyll-b, and F3 containing carotenoids, and raw extract (RAE) were obtained from the algal bloom collected in the Kaliao stream (Maroua, Cameroon).
Ethnopharmacological Relevance: Detarium microcarpum Guill. & Perr. is used traditionally in Far North Cameroun to treat stomach aches, anxiety, epilepsy, and other mental disorders.

The immunological mechanisms of host resistance to HIV infection greatly influence the prevalence of HIV in a given region. Worldwide, Cameroon not exempted, the frequency of AIDS-associated genes varies and may influence this prevalence.

(Boraginaceae) resulted in the isolation of the following ten known compounds: 1-naphthaleneacetic-5-carboxy-1,2,3,4,4a,7,8,8a-octahydro-1,2,4a-trimethyl-[1-(1,2, 4a,8a)]-acid (), hexacosanoate-1-glyceryl (), 3-urs-12,20(30)-diene-27,28-dioic acid (), 3-D-glucopyranosylurs-12,20(30)-diene-27,28-dioic acid (), stigmasterol (), stigmasterol-3---D-glucopyranoside (), oleanolic-acid (), 3--acetyl-oleanolic acid (), betulin () and spinasterol-3--D-glucopyranoside (). The isolated compounds were characterised by using spectroscopic methods, 1D and 2D NMR, mass spectroscopy (ESI-MS) and by comparison with the literature data.

The purpose of this study was to assess the diversity of synanthropic flies and to determine their potential involvement in the transmission of diarrheal diseases in the city of Maroua.
Methods: fly catching sessions were carried out per season in 12 wards, in five different sites and in three moments of the day, corresponding to the different daily sunshine hours.
The ability of strains of faecal bacteria (Vibrio cholerae, Escherichia coli ATCC 25922, and four strains of Salmonella isolated, resp., from well water, pig, poultry, and human urine in Garoua) to survive or grow in well water microcosms was compared. Water samples were obtained from two wells in Garoua (north Cameroun).
