The recent rise in telemedicine, notably during the COVID-19 pandemic, highlights the potential of integrating artificial intelligence tools in healthcare. This study assessed the effectiveness of ChatGPT versus medical oncologists in the telemedicine-based management of metastatic prostate cancer. In this retrospective study, 102 patients who met inclusion criteria were analyzed to compare the competencies of ChatGPT and oncologists in telemedicine consultations.

Over 20 million adults and 6 million children in the United States (US) have asthma, a chronic respiratory disease characterized by airway inflammation, bronchoconstriction, and mucus hypersecretion. Obesity, another highly prevalent disease in the US, is a major risk factor for asthma and a significant cause of diminished asthma control, increased submucosal eosinophilia, and reduced quality of life. A large subgroup of these patients experiences severe symptoms and recurrent exacerbations despite maximal dosage of standard asthma therapies.

Background: Only 74% of infectious diseases (ID) training positions were filled in the 2022 fellowship match, indicating a need to find increasingly novel and creative solutions for ID recruitment and outreach.

Methods: The websites of 2321 universities and 181 medical schools across the United States were manually searched for the presence of undergraduate clubs and interest groups, respectively, for multiple medical specialties and subspecialties, including ID. Geographic data were used to compare the proximity of ID fellowships to undergraduate institutions.
