The implementation of clinical pharmacy services (CPS) has grown worldwide. However, few studies have used models and/or frameworks to facilitate the implementation process, especially in a low and middle-income countries. In addition, there are limitations in the ways that implementation frameworks are used.

Professionalism represents the ethical contract that binds professionals and society. Its technical aspects, such as the professional practice model, form the foundation for attitudinal and behavioral characteristics, including the fiduciary relationship between pharmacists and patients. Despite significant interest in the topic, contextualizing professionalism proves to be a challenging endeavor, relying on collaboration among formal leaders, academics, and practitioners in the field.

Effectiveness of teaching and evaluation methods of clinical competencies for pharmacy: A systematic review.

Background: This review aimed to analyze the effectiveness of the teaching and assessment methodologies used to develop fundamental clinical skills in pharmacist who are training in patient care.

Methods: SCOPUS, EMBASE, ERIC, and PubMed were searched for original studies that featured randomized controlled trials as the study design published until March 2024. The search and extraction process followed PRISMA Guidelines.

Asthma, when untreated, may lead to serious implications, especially in the pediatric population. Understanding the perceptions and needs of children and their caregivers may optimize asthma management. This study was aimed to analyze the perceptions of children and their caregivers regarding asthma and its pharmacotherapy.

"Opportunities and responsibilities": how do pharmacists assess their professionalism?

Introduction: Professionalism is fundamental to the existence of professions. In pharmacy, interest in this theme improved with events that examined the resocialization of pharmacists in care. With this, evaluating professionalism can help the operationalization of the theme and, consequently, the development of strategies for pharmacy consolidation before its challenges.

Moderate and serious adverse reactions to antimicrobials among hospitalized children: A systematic review.

Aims: This systematic review aimed to investigate the occurrence of moderate and severe adverse drug reactions (ADRs) to antimicrobials among hospitalized children.

Methods: The PubMed/Medline, Cochrane Library, Embase, Web of Science, Scopus, Lilacs and CINAHL databases were searched in April 2023 to systematically review the published data describing the characteristics of moderate and severe ADRs to antimicrobials among hospitalized children. The search was carried out without date restrictions, up to the search date (April, 2023).

Introduction: Autonomy is considered a vital principle of professionalism. In recent years, despite important advances, the Pharmacy and pharmacists' autonomy has been questioned due to conflicts that jeopardize the consolidation of this profession in the division of work in health.

Background: Professionalism is the demonstration of behaviors that guide the actions of health professionals. In Pharmacy, its implementation is possible through assessment instruments for pharmacists, such as the "Modification of Hall's Professionalism Scale for Use with Pharmacists".

Objective: To translate the "Modification of Hall's Professionalism Scale for Use with Pharmacists" into a Brazilian Portuguese version and evaluate its psychometric properties for pharmacists.

Teaching Strategies for Professional Identity Education in Pharmacy: A Scoping Review.

Objectives: To characterize which strategies of professional identity formation and professionalism are being used in Pharmacy.

Findings: We gathered 5004 articles from 5 databases with the descriptors "pharmacy" "professionalism," "professional identity" and their synonyms. The professional identity is a set of values and behaviors common among professionals.

Introduction: In recent decades, the professionalization of pharmacy has been debated worldwide. With the advent of industrialization, pharmacist autonomy has weakened, especially in the retail pharmacy market. Cost-effectiveness of medication reconciliation performed by a pharmacist in pediatrics of a hospital: A randomized clinical trial protocol linked to a pharmacoeconomic study.

Introduction: Each patient admitted to the hospital is subject to one medication error per day, since the occurrence of this one with the potential to cause harm is three times more common in pediatric hospitalized patients than in adults. These harms can result from inaccurate or incomplete drug use histories when patients undergo a clinical evaluation, which jeopardizes patient safety and compromises hospitalization costs. Thus, medication reconciliation (MC) emerges as a possible solution to avoid the occurrence of these in pediatric patients and directly contributes to reducing costs in the hospital environment and increasing quality of life).

Antimicrobial dispensing process in community pharmacies: a scoping review.

Background: Antimicrobial resistance remains a major global public health concern, and antimicrobial dispensing in community pharmacies is an important factor in preventing this damage. However, the current literature focuses on the technical and attitudinal aspects related to antimicrobial dispensing, with little emphasis on the interventions provided in this service. Thus, this study aimed to determine the antimicrobial dispensing process in community pharmacies.

Digital pharmacists: the new wave in pharmacy practice and education.

Pharmacists now face the biggest challenges in the history of the profession: the use of digital technologies in pharmacy practice and education and the outbreak of coronavirus disease 2019. Worldwide, pharmaceutical care and pharmacy education via digital technologies have significantly increased and will be incorporated into patient care and the teaching-learning process, respectively. Thus, in this new era of pharmacy practice and education, curricula should promote the development of specific competencies for the cognitive, conscious, and effective use of digital tools.

This study aimed to characterize the quality of research on access to judicialized medicines and their influence on public policies in Brazil.

Background: Effective communication regarding the use of medications in hospital environments is a process that contributes to patient safety. Despite its importance, written communication about the medication use process in medical records remains insufficiently investigated.

Does drug dispensing improve the health outcomes of patients attending community pharmacies? A systematic review.

Background: Drug dispensing is a clinical pharmacy service that promotes access to medicines and their rational use. However, there is a lack of evidence for the impact of drug dispensing on patients' health outcomes. Thus, the purpose of this study was to assess the influence of drug dispensing on the clinical, humanistic, and economic outcomes of patients attending community pharmacies.

Communication Apprehension Among Health Professions Students in Brazil.

To determine the levels of communication apprehension experienced by health professions students in Brazil. A cross-sectional study of dentistry, pharmacy, medicine, and nursing students at a Brazilian university was conducted from December 2019 to May 2020. The students were invited to complete the Personal Report of Communication Apprehension (PRCA-24) and provide demographic data.
