Purpose: To preserve fertility before gonadotoxic therapy, ovarian tissue can be removed, cryopreserved, and transplanted back again after treatment. An alternative is the artificial ovary, in which the ovarian follicles are extracted from the tissue, which reduces the risk of reimplantation of potentially remaining malignant cells. The PTEN inhibitor bpV(HOpic) has been shown to activate human, bovine and alpacas ovarian follicles, and it is therefore considered a promising substance for developing the artificial ovary.

The present study characterized oligosaccharide compounds (Oligo) in Cabernet Franc red wine and investigated its antineoplastic effects against mammary tumor cells in vivo and in vitro, isolated or in combination with chemotherapy. The Oligo fraction was characterized by nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy and mass spectrometry. Background Aims: Extracellular vesicles (EVs) derived from human mesenchymal stromal cells (MSCs) show immunomodulatory activity in different assays both in vitro and in vivo. In previous work, the authors compared the immunomodulatory potential of independent MSC-EV preparations in a multi-donor mixed lymphocyte reaction (mdMLR) assay and an optimized steroid-refractory acute graft-versus-host disease (aGVHD) mouse model. The authors observed that only a proportion of the MSC-EV preparations showed immunomodulatory capabilities and demonstrated that only MSC-EV preparations with mdMLR immunomodulating activities were able to suppress aGVHD symptoms in vivo and vice versa.
