Endoscopic Screening for Laryngotracheal Complications in Children Following Prolonged Mechanical Ventilation Maintained Through Endotracheal Intubation: A Cross-Sectional Pilot Project.

Background: An endoscopic screening program following successful weaning from prolonged mechanical ventilation maintained through endotracheal tube (ET; ) may be justified to assess the upper (laryngotracheal) airway in children who may not always be symptomatic for intubation-related complications.

Objectives: To evaluate effects of prolonged intubation in children through endoscopic screening of the laryngotracheal airway.

Methods: In this cross-sectional pilot project, children (2 months-12 years) successfully extubated following prolonged intubation were selected, irrespective of having symptoms, for a 1-time flexible nasolaryngoscopy at third to sixth month post-extubation (follow-up window).

Syndromic Association of Depigmentation With Congenital Hearing Loss: A Review of Three Children With Auditory Pigmentary Disorders.

Congenital depigmentation may be associated with congenital sensorineural hearing loss leading to non-development of verbal speech. To illustrate the clinical features and work-up of 3 children diagnosed with auditory pigmentary disorders (APDs). Case series with a review of the literature.

Haemangioma of cheek different presentation and management.

Though haemangioma of cheek is not a very uncommon entity, here we are presenting a case series of four such cases of haemangioma cheek of completely different presentation. One of which is classical maxillary haemangioma and the rest of the others have different and unusual presentations. They all have different radiological features and were managed successfully by different surgical approaches without any recurrence.

Fine needle aspiration cytology of thyroid nodules--evaluation of its role in diagnosis and management.
