Background: The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic affected the presentation of many conditions. This study analyses and describes the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the management of appendicitis in children and the role of laparoscopy.
Materials And Methods: We performed a prospective (during the pandemic) and retrospective (historic control) review of the management of appendicitis in a tertiary paediatric surgical unit.
Introduction And Aims: Gastric feeding may not be possible in the neurologically impaired child with foregut dysmotility. Post-duodenal feeding can be crucial, thereby avoiding the need for parenteral nutrition. The aim of this study is to evaluate the technical success, complication and clinical outcome of our institution's technique in creating a jejunostomy using the percutaneous laparoscopic-endoscopic jejunostomy (PLEJ) technique.

We report a case of a neonate who presented with respiratory distress initially managed for a suspected pneumothorax before being transferred to a tertiary centre where he had a thoracotomy. A large cystic structure was excised later histologically confirmed to be a gastric duplication cyst. We discuss its management.

We present our experience of primary pit excision and use of fibrin sealant (PEF) and compare outcomes with lateralising flap procedures (LFP).
Methods: A single centre retrospective case note review of all children who had undergone a definitive procedure for pilonidal sinus from August 2006 to Dec 2013 was performed using data expressed as median (range) and compared using Fisher's exact test.
