Background: Anterior dislocation of the shoulder associated with a diaphyseal fracture of the ipsilateral humerus is a rare and controversial occurrence, with very few cases reported in the literature.
Case Presentation: We present a case of a 39-year-old right-handed driver who presented with an anterior dislocation of the shoulder associated with a diaphyseal fracture of the ipsilateral humerus following a road traffic accident. The lateral approach to the fracture allowed us to use two forceps to gain a good grip on the proximal fragment and perform the maneuver to reduce the dislocation.
Appendicitis is the first etiology for abdominal surgical emergency. Ascariasis is the most common helminth infection in tropical countries where it is endemic. The ability of intestinal helminths to wander through the digestive system means that it can end up in the appendix lumen and lead to appendicitis by luminal obstruction.

After 3 months of hemodialysis, the parents opted for continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis (CAPD) as they wished to return home located 121km from Dakar. After PD catheter insertion, the plan proposed to the patient consisted 3-4 hours stasis of isotonic dialysate during the day and a night stasis of 8 hours of icodextrin for an injection volume of 1L per session.

The description provided here is based on specimens from the Sine Saloum estuary, Senegal (West Africa), from where the species was originally described. The distinctness of the species is confirmed both by meristic and molecular criteria.

The total phenols (TP), total extractable tanins (TET) and non-precipitable phenols (NPP), were determined by combination of spectrophotometric and precipitation methods, while total flavonoids, hydroxy cinanmic acids and proanthocyanidins were determined spectrophotometrically.

Materials And Methods: Polyphenolic extracts were obtained by 90% ethanolic maceration and hot water extraction (HWE). Scavenging capacity was evaluated towards hydrogen peroxide, hydroxyl, superoxide, nitric oxide and peroxyl radicals.

Soda lignin, dioxane lignin and milled lignin were isolated from Alfa grass (Stipatenacissima L.). The physico-chemical characterization of three different lignins: one industrial lignin precipitated from soda spent liquor and two lignin preparations isolated under laboratory conditions from Alfa grass (also know as Esparto grass) was performed.

In this context, the effect of tropolone (2-hydroxycyclohepta-2,4,6-trienone), a metal chelator, on wood degradation by Poria placenta was investigated. Tropolone (50 micro M) strongly inhibits fungal growth on malt agar, but this inhibition could be relieved by adding iron salts.
