Chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) is characterized by a clonal expansion of low proliferating mature B and T lymphocytes in the bone marrow and peripheral blood. The nuclear antigen Ki 67 is a protein detected in G1, S, G2 and M phases of the cell cycle, but not in G0, and thus, is a widely accepted proliferation marker of Human tumors. Sickle cell disease and G6PD deficiency have similar prevalence of 8 to 10% in Senegalese population. Our objectives were to determine the prevalence of G6PD deficiency in Hb S carriers and normal subjects, and to assess the interaction of G6PD deficiency on clinical severity of sickle cell disease. Intravascular lymphoma (IVL) is a rare and usually fatal disease that belongs to the class of high-grade malignant lymphomas and which is characterized by proliferation of neoplastic lymphoid cells exclusively within the lumina of small blood vessels. Its polymorphic and nonspecific clinical manifestations make antemortem diagnosis very difficult. We report herein a case of IVL revealed by fatal, precapillary, pulmonary arterial hypertension and associated with long-lasting fever.

We achieved the dosage of platelet factor 4 (PF 4) and beta thromboglobulin (B-TG), two proteins stored in platelet alpha granules and released from the platelets when activated. These proteins were studied by ELISA technics in patients with type 2 diabetes without any complications (n = 32), with thrombotic complication (n = 32) and in a healthy control group (n = 32). The diabetic patients with complications had significantly elevated plasma levels of PF4 and B-TG compared with diabetic patients without complications, whereas levels of these proteins where normal in control group.

Introduction: The implication of Helicobacter pylori in the onset of anaemia due to iron deficiency, other than the occult bleeding that this germ can provoke, mediated by a peptic ulcer, lymphoma or gastric adenocarcinoma, is still controversial.

Observation: A 30 year-old woman was followed-up for 9 years for chronic recurrent anaemia, despite repeated iron therapies. The duodenal-gastro-oesophageal fibroscopy with antral biopsy finally revealed the presence of Helicobacter pylori.
