Background: To compare intraocular pressure (IOP) measurements using Goldmann applanation tonometer (GAT) and air tonometer (non-contact tonometry [NT]) in vitrectomized eyes with high-viscosity silicone oil tamponade, as well as in normal eyes.
Patients And Methods: In this prospective comparative study, 32 eyes with silicone oil tamponade of high viscosity (5700 CS) and 32 normal fellow eyes were included. IOP was measured by GAT and air tonometer 30 ± 12 days after vitrectomy, while measurements of central corneal thickness (CCT) were also obtained.
Aim: To evaluate the effectiveness of brinzolamide-brimonidine fixed combination to control the intraocular pressure elevation throughout the first 24 h following uncomplicated phacoemulsification cataract surgery.
Patients And Methods: A total of 62 patients who underwent phacoemulsification cataract surgery were included in this prospective randomized comparative case series. The brinzolamide-brimonidine fixed combination group (34 eyes) was administered a single dose of brinzolamide-brimonidine fixed combination immediately after phacoemulsification.
Purpose: To evaluate the effectiveness of a single session of micropulse laser trabeculoplasty (MLT) to lower intraocular pressure (IOP) in patients with pseudoexfoliation glaucoma (PEXG).
Methods: In this single-center, one-arm, prospective study patients with PEXG under prostaglandine analogue monotherapy with inadequate IOP control were treated with 360° 532-nm MLT. Patients were evaluated at 1 day, 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, and 12 months post-MLT while they were treated with the same drug regimen as pre-MLT.
Cannabinoids, as multi‑target mediators, activate cannabinoid receptors and transient receptor potential vanilloid (TRPV) channels. There is evidence to support a functional interaction of cannabinoid receptors and TRPV channels when they are coexpressed. Human conjunctiva demonstrates widespread cannabinoid receptor type 1 (CB1), CB2 and TRPV channel localization.

Furthermore, accumulated data reveal the existence of cross-regulation between the oxygen-sensing and heat shock pathways contributing to the adaptation of cells under stressful conditions. Pterygium, a stem cell disorder with premalignant features, has been reported to demonstrate hypoxia.
