Background: Isolated greater tuberosity (GT) fractures typically occur in younger patients following high-energy trauma compared to humeral neck fractures. Surgical treatment is indicated when superior displacement is > 5 mm. This study aimed to assess the complications and long-term outcomes of surgically-treated GT fractures.

Only 170 cases have been reported to date, two-thirds occurring in young patients with neurofibromatosis type 1 and the remaining third presenting as a sporadic tumor.
Case Presentation: We present the case of a 49-year-old man with a sporadic grade 2 MTT of the lower limb which had had a previous tibial fracture.
Background: Orthopedic patients are at the highest risk for venous thromboembolism (VTE). Nowadays, with VTE prophylaxis as a routine in patients undergoing total hip replacement (THR) and total knee replacement (TKR), fatal pulmonary embolism (PE) is rare and the rates of symptomatic VTE within 3 months dropped to 1.3%-10%, compared with the rates of 50%-70% before VTE prophylaxis implementation.
