Epidemics of pod and grain rot (PGR) of soybean (Glycine max (L.) Merr.), popularly referred to as "pod anomaly", have economically impacted Brazilian farmers, especially in Mato Grosso (MT), Brazil's largest producer state, where incidence varies from 10 to 40%.

It affects various systems including the skin, lungs, heart, and gastrointestinal tract. Management is challenging due to the disease's heterogeneity and often requires more than just pharmacological treatment.

Methods: Analytical cross-sectional study carried out with 739 elderly people in the community. Clinical, sociodemographic, anthropometric data and screening for signs suggestive of sarcopenia were obtained using the SARC-F and SARCCalf.
Introduction: Veterinary oncology is constituted mainly by human-use drugs with hazardous agents. Occupational risks are present in all stages of handling. Many studies highlighted that veterinarians and pharmacists staff present a lack of knowledge and insufficient structure for promoting safety practices.

Disease progression in Swiss albino mice was compared with the previously documented outcomes in BALB/c mice using an identical ocular route and parasite burden (2 × 10 tachyzoites), with saline as the control. Contrary to expectations, the Swiss albino mice displayed rapid, lethal disease progression, marked by pronounced sickness behaviors and mortality within 11-12 days post-infection, while the survivors exhibited no apparent signs of infection.

This study aims to evaluate the diagnostic efficacy of deep learning (DL) algorithms for MMD by analyzing sensitivity, specificity, and the area under the curve (AUC) compared to expert consensus. We conducted a systematic search of PubMed, Embase, and Web of Science for articles published from inception to February 2024.

Methods: 41 treatment-naive patients with OCD and 34 control participants (CP) were assessed using a SS inventory. Patients were reevaluated 12-weeks after standardized treatment.

Objective: To evaluate the efficacy of pregabalin and dexamethasone coadministration in preemptive analgesia and anxiety control in lower third molar surgery.
Materials And Methods: A triple-blind, split-mouth clinical trial conducted with patients divided into two groups: control group, receiving placebo and dexamethasone, and test group, receiving pregabalin and dexamethasone preoperatively. The evaluated variables were pain, measured by the Visual Analog Scale (VAS), anxiety assessed through the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI) questionnaires, hemodynamic parameters [Blood Pressure (BP), Heart Rate (HR), Oxygen Saturation (SpO)], and sedation assessed by the Ramsay scale.
Introduction: For patients with drug-resistant epilepsy (DRE) who are not suitable for surgical resection, neuromodulation with vagus nerve stimulation (VNS) is an established approach. However, there is limited evidence of seizure reduction when replacing traditional VNS (tVNS) device with a cardiac-based one (cbVNS). This meta-analysis compares the seizure reduction achieved by replacing tVNS with cbVNS in a population with DRE.

The genus (Apicomplexa: Adeleorina: Hepatozoidae) can be found parasitizing a broad range of species and, in reptiles, they infect mainly peripheral blood erythrocytes. The present study detected and characterized a haemogregarine isolated from the lizard species, , collected from the municipality of Capanema, Pará state, north Brazil.

However, there has been scant empirical evidence supporting these definitions.
Methods: We conducted a systematic review and an individual participant data meta-analysis of randomized-controlled trials (RCTs) in adults with OCD to determine optimal Y-BOCS thresholds for response and remission.

Background: Chronic non-specific low back pain (CNSLBP) lacks identifiable anatomical pathology and effective pharmacological treatment. Alternative approaches in homeopathy, specifically clinical homeopathy, utilize ultra-diluted (potentized) biological products. In Brazil, standardized biotherapics from sheep tissues, particularly fifty-millesimal (LM) potencies of sheep , have shown promise in alleviating CNSLBP.

Notably, the PICA-PICA bypass has emerged as a promising option, overshadowing the occipital artery-PICA (OA-PICA) bypass. The objective was to compare the safety and efficacy of OA-PICA and PICA-PICA bypasses.

Monitoring intracranial pressure (ICP) is pivotal in the management of severe traumatic brain injury (TBI), but secondary brain injuries can arise despite normal ICP levels. Cerebral tissue oxygenation monitoring (PbtO2) may detect neuronal tissue infarction thresholds, enhancing neuroprotection. We performed a systematic review and meta-analysis to evaluate the effects of combined cerebral tissue oxygenation (PbtO2) and ICP compared to isolated ICP monitoring in patients with TBI.

Materials And Methods: This SR followed the PRISMA-ScR and OSF registries protocol; systematic searching was conducted on MEDLINE/PubMed, Cochrane, Embase, Scopus, Web of Science, and LILACS, to identify relevant articles until June 2023. Inclusion criteria covered clinical trials, case series, prospective and retrospective studies, along with in vivo investigations, involving participants of any sex and age.
Understanding the spatial pattern of a particular geographic phenomenon such as deforestation is a key issue to establish monitoring programs to prevent the depletion of natural resources. Thus, the goal of this study was to assess the spatial pattern of deforested areas in the Pardo and Jequitinhonha River basins using Ripley's K function. First, we mapped all deforested areas in these basins using Landsat multispectral imagery from 2007 to 2015.

Methods: Polysomnography data from children aged 4 to 9 years old diagnosed with mild sleep apnea were analyzed by 2 trained examiners. The mandibular movement activity (bruxism event; SB) was classified into phasic and tonic.

Methods: Retrospective, cross-sectional study.
Incidental durotomies are frequent complications of spine surgery associated with cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leak-related symptoms. Management typically involves prolonged bed rest to reduce CSF pressure at the durotomy site. However, early ambulation may be a safer, effective alternative.

However, further replication studies are necessary. We measured skin-conductance response and blood oxygenation level-dependent responses in unmedicated adult patients with OCD (n = 27) and healthy participants (n = 22) submitted to a two-day fear-conditioning experiment comprising fear conditioning, extinction (day 1) and extinction recall (day 2).

Objective: To summarize the evidence-based cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) treatment and propose clinical interventions for adult patients with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD).
Methods: A systematic review of the literature on CBT interventions for the treatment of adult OCD, comprising behavior therapy and exposure and response prevention (ERP) was done. The objective of this study is to present updated clinical guidelines to clinicians, providing comprehensive details regarding the necessary procedures to be incorporated into the CBT protocol.
