It is known experimentally that enzymatic reactions are often accelerated when the enzymes are assembled on the scaffold of DNA nanostructures. However, the exact mechanism by which this acceleration occurs remains unclear. Here, we study the reactions of enzymes with different catalytic mechanisms assembled on a DNA scaffold with various substrates.

In addition, it highlights the consequences of social media addiction through internal factors such as self-esteem and external factors such as life satisfaction. It also examined the regulatory role of personality traits in this context.

Aldosterone synthesis is primarily regulated via tightly controlled oscillations in intracellular calcium levels in response to stimulation.

Urine-Xpert Ultra (Cepheid) could improve time to diagnosis of tuberculosis disease and rifampicin resistance. We previously reported on lot-to-lot variation of the Fujifilm SILVAMP TB LAM.

Herein, we report results for natural product-inspired novel tambjamine antimalarials. We show that they are potent against liver, asexual erythrocytic, and sexual erythrocytic parasite life cycle stages.

Fear of vascular complications related to the operative procedure remains a strong reason for both the referrer and patient reluctance. We review the incidence of vascular complications in the first 600 patients with Parkinson's disease treated at our centre by a single neurologist/neurosurgical team.

This study aims to investigate uncommon phenotypes of HPV-associated head and neck carcinoma, the prevalence and morphologic spectrum of HPV-associated SCC in the oral cavity, larynx and hypopharynx.
Method: P16 immunostaining and HPV E6/7 in situ hybridization (ISH) were performed on tissue microarrays comprised of SCCs from different anatomic sites: oropharynx (n = 270), hypopharynx (n = 52), oral cavity (n = 95) and larynx (n = 123).
Malaria has been a deadly enemy of mankind throughout history, affecting over 200 million people annually, along with approximately half a million deaths. Resistance to current therapies is of great concern, and there is a dire need for novel and well-tolerated antimalarials that operate by clinically unexploited mechanisms. We have previously reported that both tambjamines and prodiginines are highly potent novel antiplasmodial agents, but they required rigor optimizations to enhance the oral efficacy, safety, and physicochemical properties.

Assessing and monitoring changes in periodontal structures before, during, and after orthodontic procedures is crucial, and intraoral ultrasound (US) imaging has been shown a promising diagnostic tool in imaging periodontium. However, accurately delineating and analyzing periodontal structures in US videos is a challenging task for clinicians, as it is time-consuming and subject to interpretation errors.

Depending on the location and origin of the tumor, clinical pictures vary from asymptomatic to severe manifestations such as arrhythmia, heart failure, pericardial effusion, and cardiogenic shock.

Hysteroscopic adhesiolysis has emerged as the gold standard for both the diagnosis and treatment of Asherman's syndrome. Understanding the intricate relationship between Asherman's syndrome, uterine adhesiolysis, and infertility is crucial for guiding comprehensive and effective management strategies.

Candida species are the most common cause of nosocomial, invasive fungal infections and are associated with mortality rates above 40%. Despite the increasing incidence of drug-resistance, the development of novel antifungal formulations has been limited.

VISITECT CD4 Advanced Disease (VISITECT; AccuBio, Ltd) is an instrument-free, point-of-care, semiquantitative test allowing visual identification of CD4 ≤ 200 cells/µL or >200 cells/ µL from finger-prick or venous blood.
Methods: As part of a diagnostic accuracy study of FUJIFILM SILVAMP TB LAM, people with HIV ≥18 years old were prospectively recruited in 7 countries from outpatient departments if a tuberculosis symptom was present, and from inpatient departments.
Neutrophils accumulate early in tissue injury. However, the cellular and functional heterogeneity of neutrophils during homeostasis and in response to tissue damage remains unclear. In this study, we use larval zebrafish to understand neutrophil responses to thermal injury.

Optimizing exercise interventions in this population is necessary. This study aimed to describe existing digital home-based exercises and to assess their effectiveness at improving physical health in female cancer survivors upon completion of therapy.

One important measure of the research program success is student publication rates. In 2006, UNSW Medicine implemented a mandatory research program in the 4th year of the undergraduate medical education program.

This prospective trial in seven high tuberculosis burden countries evaluated the diagnostic accuracy of the point-of-care urine-based lipoarabinomannan assay FUJIFILM SILVAMP TB LAM (FujiLAM) among inpatients and outpatients living with HIV. Diagnostic performance of FujiLAM was assessed against a mycobacterial reference standard (sputum culture, blood culture, and Xpert Ultra from urine and sputum at enrollment, and additional sputum culture ≤7 days from enrollment), an extended mycobacterial reference standard (eMRS), and a composite reference standard including clinical evaluation.
