The effect of hydrogen-bonding complexation on the interfacial behavior of poly(isoprene)-b-poly(ethylene oxide) (PI-b-PEO) diblock copolymer at the air-water interface has been investigated by Langmuir balance and neutron reflectivity. PI-b-PEO forms Langmuir monolayers with PI as the anchoring block. Introduction of a second diblock, poly(isoprene)-b-poly(acrylic acid) (PI-b-PAA) yields PI-b-PEO/PI-b-PAA mixed layers with interfacial behavior that is pH-dependent.

Poly(isoprene)-block-poly(ethylene oxide) (PI-b-PEO) diblock copolymers form micelles in water. The introduction of poly(ethylene oxide)-block-poly(propylene oxide)-block-poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO-b-PPO-b-PEO) triblock copolymer leads to the formation of mixed micelles through hydrophobic interaction. The dimension of the mixed micelles varies with the weight ratio (r) of PEO-b-PPO-b-PEO to PI-b-PEO.

Zonula occludens proteins (ZOs), including ZO1/2/3, are tight junction-associated proteins. Each of them contains three PDZ domains. It has been demonstrated that ZO1 can form either homodimers or heterodimers with ZO2 or ZO3 through the second PDZ domain.

Polystyrene-b-poly(acrylic acid) (PS-b-PAA) diblock copolymer chains form aggregates with bimodal distribution in toluene. The introduction of polystyrene-b-poly(ethylene oxide) (PS-b-PEO) chains leads to the formation of mixed micellar cluster due to the hydrogen-bonding complexation between PAA and PEO. By using laser light scattering and transmission electron microscopy, we have investigated the structural evolution of the mixed micellar cluster.

Polystyrene-b-poly(acrylic acid) (PS-b-PAA) diblock copolymers form micelles in toluene with PAA as the core and PS as the corona. The introduction of poly(methyl methacrylate)-b-poly(ethylene oxide) (PMMA-b-PEO) solution in toluene leads to mixed micelles due to the hydrogen-bonding complexation between PAA and PEO. By using a combination of static and dynamic laser light scattering, we have investigated the evolution of the mixed micelles.
