Neuronal recovery after stroke is supported by the expression of genes involved in neuronal plasticity and neuroprotection. As an epigenetic modification, histone acetylation modulates gene expression elicited by neurorehabilitation. This study aimed to investigate the combined effects of skilled reaching training (SRT) and the pharmacological inhibition of histone deacetylase (HDAC) using sodium butyrate (NaB) on motor function recovery after intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH).

Pyroptosis, a form of programmed cell death mediated by the gasdermin family, has emerged as a promising strategy for inducing anti-tumor immunity. However, efficiently inducing pyroptosis in tumor cells remains a significant challenge due to the limited activation of key mediators like caspases in tumor tissues. Herein, a self-priming pyroptosis-inducing agent (MnNZ@OMV) is developed by integrating outer membrane vesicles (OMVs) with manganese dioxide nanozymes (MnNZ) to trigger pyroptosis in tumor cells.

However, even with steroid prophylaxis, stenosis still occurs in up to 45% of patients. Accordingly, the aim of this study was to evaluate the efficacy and safety of steroid therapy in preventing esophageal strictures after ESD, as well as to assess the predictors of esophageal strictures after the application of steroids.

Inflammation is intimately linked to the iron metabolism in macrophages, and ferritin heavy chain (Fth) is the basis of iron metabolism in macrophages. Regulating Fth to control iron metabolism may help to reduce inflammation in macrophages, which can ultimately help to alleviate certain aging-related diseases.

MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are small endogenous RNAs that regulate gene expression post-transcriptionally and modulate signaling networks involved in various cellular processes. In this study, we identify miR-107, a conserved miRNA, as a key regulator of porcine follicle development through its effects on GCs proliferation, steroid metabolism, and apoptosis.

Developing high-performance, low-resistance, and recyclable air filtration materials remains a formidable challenge. Herein, silica nanoparticles (SiO NPs) and supramolecular complexes consisting of melamine (MA) and trimesic acid (TMA) are constructed as SiO@MA·TMA supramolecular nanofibrous composite membrane via a thermally induced precursor process (TIPC) for efficient particulate matter (PM) removal. Hydrophilic SiO NPs as additional nucleation mediators can not only promote the growth of MA·TMA nanocrystalline fibers by shortening the interfacial free energy and thus reducing the nucleation barrier, but also increase fiber surface roughness thus constructing hierarchical structure of membrane.

This study presents a screening strategy integrating ligand-based virtual screening (LBVS) and density functional theory (DFT) calculations to explore new molecular combinations with co-assembly capabilities. The accuracy of this screening was validated by synthesizing various co-assembled nanodrugs under mild conditions.

This study aims to propose a new classification of SISMAD and to propose two corresponding treatment plans based on this new classification. The 3D models of 70 patients with SISMAD were reconstructed and classified into Li types I-V based on morphology, followed by computational fluid dynamics analysis.

Two new abietane diterpenoids (1 and 2), along with twelve known compounds (3-14), were isolated from the whole plants of Ajuga bracteosa. Their structures were elucidated through a combination of spectroscopic analyses, including NMR and ECD calculations. All isolates were evaluated for their inhibitory effects on RSL3-induced ferroptosis in HT22 cells.

Methods: In this study, multi-omics analyses such as methylomics, transcriptomics, pyrophosphate sequencing, qRT-PCR, immunohistochemistry, and western blotting were utilized to investigate the role of epigenetic regulation and altered gene expression in the pathogenesis of DEACMP.
Results: Using integrated analysis, we identified 168 differentially methylated CpGs sites, 334 differentially expressed genes, and two differentially methylated and differentially expressed genes (DAB2IP and SMYD3) in the DEACMP group.
Controlled synthesis based on the metal-organic skeleton structure and channel size is essential for practical applications. In addition to adjusting structural characteristics, it is crucial to reveal the relationship between morphology and properties in chemistry to achieve rational material design. This paper investigates the effects of the proton supply/acceptor capacity (β/α parameter) on the structure of Zr-MOF and the adsorption properties of Sb(V) in UiO-66-X (University of Oslo-66) crystal material constructed with a variety of solvents as templates, using the Kamlet-Taft method.

Uncontrolled haemorrhage is a leading cause of trauma-related fatalities, highlighting the critical need for rapid and effective haemostasis. Current haemostatic materials encounter limitations such as slow clotting and weak mechanical strength, while most of bioadhesives compromise their adhesion performance to wet tissues for biocompatibility and degradability. In this study, a molecular self-assembly strategy is proposed, developing a biocompatible and biodegradable protein-based patch with excellent adhesion performance.

Promoting the rate of the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) is critical for boosting the overall energy efficiency of the flexible zinc-air batteries (FZABs). Inspired by nature, we designed "branch-leaf" like hierarchical porous carbon nanofibers with ultralow loadings of Ir nanoparticles (NPs) derived from covalent-organic framework/metal-organic framework (COF/MOF) core-shell hybrids. The as-obtained Ir/FeZn-hierarchical porous carbon nanofibers (HPCNFs) showcase enhanced ORR performance, and the ultralow Ir loading reduces the cost while maintaining catalytic capacity.
