Background: Gastrointestinal xanthomas are asymptomatic and infrequent non-neoplastic lesions that commonly occur in the stomach with -associated gastritis and rarely in the esophagus. To date, there have been no reports of esophageal xanthoma combined with esophageal cancer. Herein, we present the first case in the literature of a diffuse xanthoma complicated with early esophageal cancer.

Here, CeO nanorods composites loaded with amorphous Fe(OH) cocatalyst were designed and prepared via a secondary water bath at 100 °C. The as-synthesized CeO /amorphous Fe(OH) composites exhibited superior light photocatalytic activities compared to pure CeO , especially the sample with a loading time of 60 min.

The present study examined the prevalence, correlates, and clinical symptoms of possible PTSD in surviving HCWs 6 months after the COVID-19 outbreak in China. A total of 291 surviving HCWs and 42 age- and gender-matched COVID-19-free frontline HCWs (control group) were recruited and administered the Chinese Essen Trauma Inventory, which was used to assess the presence of possible PTSD according to DSM-IV-TR criteria.

The assemblage of bacteria and associated antibiotic resistant genes (ARGs) on TPs is yet largely unknown, especially under the stress of soil pollutants. In the present study, TPs were incubated in soils with or without the stress of heavy metal (Cu) or/and antibiotic (tetracycline), and bacterial community and ARG profile on TPs and in soils were explored using high-throughput sequencing and high-throughput quantitative PCR.

The accurate identification of irreversible infarction and salvageable tissue is important in planning the treatments for acute ischemic stroke (AIS) patients. Computed tomographic perfusion (CTP) can be used to evaluate the ischemic core and deficit, covering most of the territories of anterior circulation, but many community hospitals and primary stroke centers do not have the capability to perform CTP scan in emergency situation. This study aimed to identify AIS lesions from widely available non-contrast computed tomography (NCCT) and CT angiography (CTA) using deep learning.

Methods: Questionnaires were handed out to doctors who have taken part in the epilepsy care, covering those from all third-grade hospitals and several second-grade hospitals in Shanghai China. Respondents were asked to make choices for their demographic profiles, clinical practices, acquired knowledge of, and attitudes toward the comorbidity of epilepsy and depression.
-Tricalcium phosphate (TCP) is a type of bioceramic material which is commonly used for hard tissue repair and famous of its remarkable biocompatibility and osteoconductivity with similar composition to natural bone. However, TCP lacks osteoindcutive properties. Stromal-derived factor 1 (SDF-1) can promote bone regeneration with excellent osteoinduction effect.

An intemperate descent or a migration failure of the thyroid anlage results in sub-diaphragmatic thyroid ectopia, a sparse clinical entity.
Case Summary: This case portrays a 63-year-old female patient presenting with chronic abdominal discomfort at a local hospital whereby a computed tomography (CT) scan revealed a well-defined mass in the hepatic entrance.
This study is aimed at exploring the potential of isorhamnetin in protection against diabetes-exacerbated ischemia/reperfusion-induced brain injury and elucidating its action mechanism. After establishment of the model of high glucose (HG)-aggravated oxygen-glucose deprivation and reoxygenation (OGD/R), HT22 cell viability was detected by CCK-8. Lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) activity, casapase-3 activity, and oxidative stress-related markers in HT22 cells were detected by corresponding commercial kits.

Despite the shutdown measures being in place, northern China still suffered severe haze episodes (HE) that are not yet fully understood, particularly how the source emissions changed. Thus, the meteorological conditions and source emissions in processing five HEs occurred in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei area were investigated by analyzing a comprehensive real-time measurement dataset including air quality data, particle physics, optical properties, chemistry, aerosol lidar remote sensing, and meteorology.

In this study, Bacillus subtilis and each of three biochars of different origins (corn stalk, peanut shell, and pine wood) were coupled forming composite systems to treat a cadmium (Cd, 50 mg/L) wastewater formulated with CdCl in batch tests. Biochar in composite system enhanced the activity and Cd adsorption of B.

This study examined the blocking and phytotoxic effects of fullerene nanoparticles (nC) on plants at the cellular level. The malondialdehyde content in plant was normal during nC exposure, implying that nC caused no acute phytotoxicity, while the normalized relative transpiration significantly decreased, showing that the pore structure of roots was seriously blocked by nC.

To better understand the characteristics and transformation mechanisms of secondary inorganic aerosols, hourly mass concentrations of water-soluble inorganic ions (WSIIs) in PM and their gaseous precursors were measured online from 2016 to 2018 at an urban site in Beijing. Seasonal and diurnal variations in water-soluble ions and gaseous precursors were discussed and their gas-particle conversion and partitioning were also examined, some related parameters were characterized. The (TNH) was also defined to describe the variations of the excess NH in different seasons.
