Adult-onset foveomacular vitelliform dystrophy (AOFVD) is a rare condition affecting the macula that presents diagnostic and management challenges due to its varied manifestations and clinical overlap with other retinal disorders. As vitelliform lesions can occur in various conditions, such as Best disease and age-related macular degeneration, clinical presentation, multimodal imaging findings, and genetic testing can aid in accurate diagnosis. Repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) is a non-invasive brain stimulation method that has been suggested as a possible treatment method for cognitive impairment in patients with Alzheimer's Disease (pwAD), similar to multidomain cognitive training (CT). The effectiveness, however, of combining these techniques for pwAD remains controversial due to the variability in rTMS parameters, differences in CT protocol designs-many of which neglect the language domain-and the inclusion of patients at various stages of Alzheimer's Disease (AD) and with different types of dementia. Objective: We investigated the feasibility of the RehaCom cognitive rehabilitation software in illiterate and low-educated individuals with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) and its clinical effectiveness in improving cognitive functions.

Methods: Twenty illiterate or low-educated individuals with MCI were randomly assigned to an intervention (IG; n = 10) and control group (CG; n = 10). The IG participated in the cognitive enhancement program for 6 weeks, twice a week and a duration of 50-60 min for each session, while the CG did not receive any kind of intervention.

In spite of the phenotypic classification of MS patients, current data provide evidence that diffuse neuroinflammation and neurodegeneration coexist in all MS forms, the latter gaining increasing clinical relevance in progressive phases. Inadequate weight loss or weight regain after Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (RYGBP) occurs in more than a quarter of patients for various reasons. Available remedying treatment options include endoscopic and surgical techniques for revision of the gastric pouch and the gastro-jejunal anastomosis, conversion of standard to distal gastric bypass (DRYGBP) or the conversion of RYGBP to biliopancreatic diversion (BPD) or duodenal switch (DS). Recent studies corroborate the importance of image analysis in identifying and quantifying immunological markers from tissue samples that can provide further insight into patient prognosis.
