Introduction: Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) is one of the leading non-genetic causes of developmental disability worldwide and is thought to be particularly common in the UK. Despite this, there is a lack of data on FASD in the UK.
Objective: To conduct public and professional involvement work to establish stakeholder views on the feasibility, acceptability, key purposes, and design of a national linked longitudinal research database for FASD in the UK.
This study delves into the lives of transnational families in the UAE, exploring their complex identities using a visual research approach known as the Collage Life Elicitation Technique (CLET). Both the topic and the methodology are framed within a theoretical lens of (understanding) with a view to further exploring the lives of transnational families in the context of a pragmatic phenomenology and within the setting of the UAE as a rentier state. The lives of families such as these are characterized by a cross-cultural lifestyle, high mobility and expected repatriation.

A retrospective chart review of 2 cases and an analysis of the literature were performed. An 18-year-old woman and a 67-year-old woman suffered complete loss of vision in their operative eye after primary scleral buckle surgery with encircling bands.

Exploring how neurons in the mammalian body interact with the artificial interface of implants can be used to learn about fundamental cell behavior and to refine medical applications. For fundamental and applied research, it is crucial to determine the conditions that encourage neurons to maintain their natural behavior during interactions with non-natural interfaces. Our previous investigations quantified the deterioration of neuronal connectivity when their dendrites deviate from their natural fractal geometry.

The pulmonary absorption profiles of 26 structurally unrelated drug-like molecules were evaluated using their IAM hydrophobicity index (CHI IAM) measured in IAM LC, and the logarithm of distribution constants (log K) derived from the LEKC experiments. Lipophilicity (phospholipids) parameters obtained from IAM LC and most LEKC analyses were linearly related to the n-octanol/water partitioning coefficients of the neutral forms (i.

Case Presentation: FTMH can occur after an extended number of repeat intravitreal injections in the setting of worsening vitreomacular adhesion or VMT. This patient's FTMH was successfully treated surgically in a timely manner, and additional injections were resumed safely.
Distributed clean, reliable energy resources like solar plus battery storage (solar + storage) can reduce harmful emissions while supporting resilience. Solar + storage-powered resilience hubs provide energy for critical services during disasters while increasing human adaptive capacity year round. We studied where utility rates, local climate, and historical injustice make solar + storage resilience hubs more valuable and more challenging.

Our laboratory previously reported a simple, cost-effective, single-step crystallization method based on guanidinium organosulfonate (GS) hydrogen bonded frameworks for structure determination of a wide range of encapsulated guest molecules, including assignment of the absolute configuration of chiral centers. Herein, we expand on those results and report a head-to-head comparison of the GS method with adamantoid "molecular chaperones", which have been reported to be useful hosts for structure determination.

We describe findings from a semester-long infectious diseases (ID) didactic elective that utilized a national cohort of preceptors and faculty across the United States to mimic clinician interaction and "real-time" ID management of various disease states. The mechanics of this elective provide a framework for others to implement to enhance advanced pharmacy practice experience (APPE) readiness.

Herein, we report crystalline inclusion compounds based on a new aliphatic host, guanidinium cyclohexanemonosulfonate, which surprisingly exhibits four heretofore unobserved architectures, as described by the projection topologies of the organosulfonate residues above and below hydrogen-bonded guanidinium sulfonate sheets. The inclusion compounds adopt a layer motif of guanidinium sulfonate sheets interleaved with guest molecules, resembling a mille-feuille pastry.

Tire tread and road pavement materials are denser than water but can be washed from the road surface into receiving water bodies, ultimately depositing into sediment, soil, or other media depending on the receiving environment. However, the paucity of mass-based measurements has limited the knowledge on the nature and extent of environmental concentrations necessary for environmental risk assessment of TRWP.

Prevalence of cognitive impairment, depression/anxiety, fatigue, apathy and related psychological outcomes, and whether rates are stable in long-term stroke, is unknown.
Methods: N = 105 long-term stroke survivors (M [SD] age = 72.
Accurate prediction of charge carrier relaxation rates is essential to design molecules and materials with the desired photochemical properties for applications like photocatalysis and solar energy conversion. Nonadiabatic molecular dynamics allows one to simulate the relaxation process of excited charge carriers. Plane-wave density functional theory (DFT) calculations make the time-derivative nonadiabatic couplings (TNACs) simple to compute because the basis is independent of the atomic positions.

Student nurses studying at Sheffield Hallam University continued to engage in their training during the COVID-19 pandemic; however, the stressors of this experience were anecdotally highlighted to their academic staff. Furthermore, burnout can be linked to the ongoing difficulties with recruitment and retention of nursing staff within the NHS workforce.

Background: Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and persistent tic disorder (PTD) are two neurodevelopmental disorders that frequently co-occur. Contributions of each disorder to cognitive and behavioral deficits have been reported. In this paper, we tested 3 models of pathophysiology for the two disorders (additive, interactive, and phenotypic) using resting-state connectivity associated with each disorder separately and together.
