The aim of this study was to develop and evaluate a liposome formulation that deliver oxaliplatin under magnetic field stimulus in high concentration to alleviate the off-target effects in a rat model of colorectal liver metastases (CRLM). Hybrid liposome-magnetic nanoparticles loaded with Cy5.5 dye and oxaliplatin (L-NIR- FeO/OX) were synthesized by using thermal decomposition method.

Hepatocellular carcinoma and intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma are often amenable to locoregional therapy, including percutaneous ablation, transarterial chemoembolization (TACE), or transarterial radioembolization (TARE). TARE is a technique that delivers a high dose of radiation to the tumor, while limiting the dose to the normal liver parenchyma and the adjacent organs. It has been shown to effectively provide disease control with relatively few toxicities, and in certain cases results in a complete response.

The objective of the present study is to elucidate the long-term effects of anti-hyperglycemic active principle, Mcy protein (MCP), isolated from the fruits of Momordica cymbalaria on carbohydrate metabolism and oxidative stress in experimental diabetic rats. We used streptozotocin induced diabetic rats for the current studies. Our studies showed that MCP (2.

Background: This study was aimed to evaluate the protective effects of a novel anti-hyperglycemic "Mcy protein" isolated from the fruits of Momordica cymbalaria in streptozotocin induced- diabetes rat model.

Materials And Methods: Wild type and Streptozotocin induced diabetic male wistar albino rats were either treated with single intraperitoneal injection of 2.5 mg Mcy protein/kg body weight or acetate buffer daily for 30 days.

Article Synopsis
  • - MicroRNAs, small non-coding RNAs like miR-874, play crucial roles in gene regulation and can act as tumor suppressors in cancers such as non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).
  • - The study identified that miR-874 targets genes related to tumor progression, specifically MMP-2 and uPA, and found decreased levels of miR-874 in lung cancer tissues compared to normal ones.
  • - Restoring miR-874 expression reduced the aggressive characteristics of cancer stem cells and tumor growth in mice, suggesting that targeting miR-874 could be a promising strategy for NSCLC treatment.

The majority of glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) tumors recur after radiation (IR) treatment due to increased angiogenesis and IR-induced signaling events in endothelial cells (ECs) that are involved in tumor neovascularization; however, these signaling events have yet to be well characterized. In the present study, we observed that IR (8 Gy) significantly elevated MMP-2 expression and gelatinolytic activity in 4910 and 5310 human GBM xenograft cells. In addition, ECs treated with tumor-conditioned media (CM) obtained from IR-treated 4910 and 5310 cells showed increased microtubule formation.
