Introduction: Various cardiovascular thrombo-embolic clinical entities use combined ATS for prevention and treatment. After PCI, AF patients are typically prescribed DOAC, DAPT/SAPT, as component of ATS to minimize stroke risk and treat pulmonary embolism and venous thromboembolism. Some small observational studies have shown that a combined ATS can clear small thrombi in LV dysfunction and/or apical aneurysms.

Ischemic sinus nodes are usually asymptomatic but can cause sinus arrest sometimes requiring pacemaker placement. In rare cases, junctional escape rhythms, a manifestation of sinus exit blocks after PCI, can predict cardiogenic shock.

HF patients with LVEF 30-80 % and NYHA functional class II-IV symptoms got empagliflozin 10 mg or not within 6 months before AVR, along with SOC. Adding empagliflozin to the SOC before AVR reduced HF death or HHF by 73 % after 6-months in a group of 20 patients (RR 0.

Many prior studies have shown a link between transverse myelitis and the presence of antiphospholipid antibodies. Earlier theories have linked thrombotic tendency to be the culprit in such manifestations but currently there is evidence to support other causative mechanisms.

The incidence of rhabdomyolysis in non-hemorrhagic dengue virus infection is quite low and may go unnoticed, especially if the presentation is not florid. We report a case of a young male patient, sero-positive for dengue, with no hemorrhagic manifestations or hypotension, who developed rhabdomyolysis complicated by renal failure.

We present a case of hair dye poisoning that presented with respiratory distress due to laryngeal edema and later developed trismus, subclinical tetany, apnea, and conduction abnormality on electrocardiogram. This case report highlights the need for a thorough toxicological review of the components of any ingested substance.

Likewise these systemic diseases and their severity have been found to have an impact on the morbidity of periodontal disease. A number of mechanisms specific to such interlink have been proposed and later established in numerous studies.

Occasionally functionally debilitating, the disorder is mostly benign in nature with the severe deformities requiring surgical correction. A need to watch for possible malignant associations is also warranted.

Antagonists of vitamin K dependant clotting factors are commonly used as treatment/prophylaxis for anticoagulation. Due to their narrow therapeutic window, a wide range of complications including death may occur. International normalized ratio (INR) is monitored to measure adequacy/excess of anticoagulation.

Acute kidney injury (AKI), a recognized complication of cardiac surgery with cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) is associated with increased morbidity and mortality (15-30%) with approximately 1% of all the affected patients requiring dialysis. Early detection of AKI would enable intervention before occurrence of irreversible injury and might minimize the morbidity and mortality. Recently developed biomarkers of AKI facilitate its earlier discovery and help assessment of its severity and prognosis.

Less than 100 cases have been reported in published studies. Although it is a relatively benign condition, clinicians need to have a high index of suspicion for the associated complications that may arise.

Our better understanding of the pathophysiology of diabetes has enabled a continual churn out of newer antidiabetic agents with varying modes of action. Sodium-Glucose Transport Proteins-2 inhibitors, dipeptidyl peptidase IV inhibitors, glucagon-like peptide analogues, glucokinase activators, dual peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor agonists, monoclonal antibodies, and dopamine-2 receptor agonists either as monotherapy or combination therapy with the existing oral hypoglycemic agents compound our fight against diabetes.
