The constituents of the aqueous, ethanol, hexane, and methanol extracts of Anatolian propolis collected from the Eastern Black Sea Region (Çayeli-Rize) were investigated by GC-MS, HPLC and AAS. Interestingly, lactulose has been identified. Ten phenolic compounds, namely caffeic acid, ferulic acid, rutin, taxifolin, quercetin, kaempferol, apigenin, silicristin, silibinin and gallic acid were determined.

Does Eta Protein Differentiate Rheumatoid Arthritis from Psoriatic Arthritis?

Aim: The clinical symptoms and laboratory markers of Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) and Psoriatic Arthritis (PsA) can be very similar, so making a differential diagnosis between these two diseases is often difficult. Serological parameters to be used in differential diagnosis can guide the clinician. This study aimed to investigate the usability of 14-3-3η (eta) protein as a biomarker in the differential diagnosis of PsA and RA, and the relationships between eta protein and disease activity scores and joint erosions in PsA and RA.

Clinical course and prognostic factors of COVID-19 infection in patients with chronic inflammatory-rheumatic disease: A retrospective, case-control study.

Objectives: This study aims to investigate the prognosis of novel coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19) infection in patients with the chronic inflammatory-rheumatic disease and evaluate the effects of immunosuppressive drugs on the prognosis, clinical characteristics, laboratory findings and hospitalization periods of the rheumatic patients with COVID-19 infection.

Patients And Methods: Between April 2020 and March 2021, a total of 101 patients (30 males, 71 females; mean age: 48±14.4 years; range, 46 to 48 years) with the rheumatic diseases diagnosed with COVID-19 infection were included.

A total of 150 patients were randomized into three groups. Group I was given medical treatment, group II was treated as outpatients, and group III was treated as inpatient spa therapy.

Synchronous primary carcinoma in 5 different organs of a female genital tract: an unusual case and review of the literature.

The occurrence of double simultaneous primary cancers of the female reproductive tract is a common event. However, the occurrence of synchronous primary quadruple gynecologic malignancies is extremely rare. In this report, the clinical and pathological findings of a 35-year-old female patient with synchronous primary gynecologic cancers regarding papillary serous carcinoma of the left ovary, microinvasive carcinoma in situ of the left and right uterine tubes, endometrial intraepithelial carcinoma of the endometrium, and endocervical carcinoma in situ of the uterine cervix were presented.

Staining characterization by immunohistochemistry of tumor cancer antigen in patients with endometrial cancer.

Objective: The aim of the present study was to evaluate the correlation between the pattern of cancer antigen (CA-125) expression by immunohistochemistry and pathologic parameters in endometrial carcinoma.

Methods: Seventy-two cases of primary uterine carcinomas, 66 endometrioid carcinoma and six non-endometrioid, were analyzed by immunohistochemistry for CA-125 expression. Myometrial invasion was evaluated by assessing the percentage of myometrial thickness involved at the site of deepest tumor extension.

The role of omentectomy during the surgical staging in patients with clinical stage I endometrioid adenocarcinoma.

Objective: The aim of this study was to evaluate whether omentectomy should be a routine part of staging surgery in endometrioid adenocarcinoma.

Methods: A retrospective study was performed on 65 patients who were primarily treated by total abdominal hysterectomy, salpingo-oophorectomy, bilateral pelvic and para-aortic lymphadenectomy, infracolic omentectomy and peritoneal cytology for clinical stage I endometrial carcinoma between January 2002 and December 2005. Data on 65 patients who had been diagnosed with clinical stage I endometrial carcinoma were reviewed.

Splenic abscesses in therapy-resistant acute myeloblastic leukemia presenting as recurrent febrile neutropenia and unresolved splenomegaly.

A 14 7/12-year-old boy with acute myeloblastic leukemia M3v was admitted with disseminated intravascular coagulation, otitis media, lobar pneumonia, and splenomegaly. After induction therapy, M2 bone marrow was attained but splenomegaly persisted. Abdominal ultrasonography, which revealed diffuse splenomegaly at admission, showed splenic nodular lesions at the end of the induction therapy.
