Background: Approximately 25% of cancer patients are diagnosed with rare cancers and face unique challenges. Decentralized patient-partnered research efforts, like Count Me In provide an avenue for patients to participate in research that overcomes key barriers to address disparities in rare cancer research to accelerate discovery.
Objectives: Projects in metastatic breast cancer (The Metastatic Breast Cancer Project; MBCproject) and angiosarcoma (The Angiosarcoma Project; ASCproject) highlight disparities that exist for all cancer patients and underscore those that are compounded for rare cancer patients.
Background And Aims: Non-invasive assessment of liver fibrosis is important in the management of liver disease. EUS-guided shear wave elastography (EUS-SWE) is a newer technology that can measure liver stiffness, thereby estimating hepatic fibrosis. There is limited data comparing EUS-SWE to vibration controlled transient elastography (VCTE) using liver biopsy as the gold standard, and the reproducibility of EUS-SWE measurements is not known.

Materials And Methods: Thirteen patients presenting with 15 implants were included in this prospective case series. Upon flap reflection, the implants were thoroughly decontaminated employing glycine powder air polishing and adjunctive sodium hypochlorite.
Background: Preventing anxiety and depression among college students is a pressing public health need. Recent meta-analyses have examined mobile mindfulness interventions in adult populations; however, college students are in a unique developmental stage and institutional setting.
Methods: We conducted a systematic literature review and meta-analysis of published and unpublished studies in English language on the acceptability, usage, and efficacy of mindfulness training apps on mental health among non-clinical samples of college students.
Objectives: This pilot randomized controlled clinical trial compares the clinical outcome obtained in persistent periodontal pockets during 9-month follow-up of supportive periodontal step 4 treatment performed by either combining subgingival instrumentation with adjunctively used sodium hypochlorite/amino acid gel and crosslinked hyaluronic acid (xHyA) or subgingival instrumentation alone.
Materials And Methods: Study protocol is registered under NCT06438354 at Clinicaltrials.gov.
Background And Aims: Fully covered self-expandable metal stents (FCSEMSs) are widely used in benign upper gastrointestinal (GI) conditions, but stent migration remains a limitation. An over-the-scope clip (OTSC) device (Stentfix {SF], Ovesco Endoscopy) for stent anchoring has recently been developed. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of OTSC fixation on FCSEMS migration rate.

Many proteomic approaches have been adopted in the past to identify the molecular mechanism behind this cellular phenomenon. However, how the cells sense the electric stimulus and transduce it into directed cell migration is still under discussion.

These patients often have underlying medical comorbidities requiring anticoagulation and/or antiplatelet therapy. We evaluated the safety, management, and outcomes of EUS-GBD in patients being treated with antithrombotic therapy (ATT).

However, current practices have limited effectiveness in risk-stratifying patients with BE.
Aim: This study aimed to evaluate use of the TSP-9 test in risk-stratifying clinically relevant subsets of patients with BE in clinical practice.

Objectives: To investigate the four-year clinical outcome and marginal bone loss around narrow-diameter implants in patients with uncontrolled diabetes mellitus type 2 (T2DM) and normo-glycemic individuals.
Materials And Methods: In 11 T2DM patients with a concentration of glycated hemoglobin (HbA1C) > 6.5% (test group) and 15 normoglycemic patients (HbA1C < 6.
Background And Aims: Glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists (GLP-1 RAs) promote weight loss by suppressing appetite, enhancing satiety, regulating glucose metabolism, and delaying gastric motility. We sought to determine whether GLP-1 RA use could affect medical procedures such as EGD.
Methods: We conducted a retrospective study of 35,183 patients who underwent EGD between 2019 and 2023, 922 of whom were using a GLP-1 RAs.
Esophageal manometry is utilized for the evaluation and classification of esophageal motility disorders. EndoFlip has been introduced as an adjunctive test to evaluate esophagogastric junction (EGJ) distensibility. Treatment options for achalasia and EGJ outflow obstruction (EGJOO) include pneumatic dilation, myotomy, and botulinum toxin.

This retrospective analysis compares outcomes reported by three centers using different heterografts. Center 1 (C1) treated intrabony defects combining cross-linked high-molecular-weight hyaluronic acid (xHyA) with a xenograft; center 2 (C2) used EMD with an allograft combination to graft a residual pocket.
