Background: The proximity between people and their domestic animals with wild animal populations can result in the spread of diseases with a significant impact on public health. Infection by parasites in wildlife is considered an important bioindicator of the current state of ecosystems, and studying the epidemiology of these infections is essential for a better understanding of natural foci. However, research on parasites in southern Brazil, especially in Rio Grande do Sul (RS), is considered incipient.

Giardiasis is one of the most prevalent parasitic diseases in both developed and developing countries, with a prevalence of 0,1-5% and 20-30%, respectively, and is correlated with poor hygiene practices, such as irregular handwashing, which consequently contaminates food when handled.

Wild animals host a wide variety of parasites, and the disorders caused by these parasites are among the most prevalent and significant infectious diseases affecting wildlife. The investigation of parasitic fauna is crucial for the conservation of wild animals, domestic populations, and humans. Therefore, the aim of the study was to survey endo- and ectoparasites in free-living wildlife in southern Brazil.

Phalacrocorax brasilianus (Gmelin, 1789) (Aves: Phalacrocoracidae) is one of the few piscivorous birds inhabiting freshwater and saline environments, being considered one of the most abundant aquatic species in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, especially along the state's coastline. It is known that birds are hosts to a wide variety of disease-causing agents, among them, nematodes of the Contracaecum (Anisakidae) have a large number of recognized species. However, little is still known about the occurrence of these parasites in the Southern region of Brazil.

L-PRF membranes possess several characteristics essential in wound healing, including a barrier function, an antibacterial and analgesic activity, and the release of growth factors enhancing tissue regeneration and neo-vasculogenesis. This review investigated the role of L-PRF in treating non-responding chronic wounds such as diabetic foot, venous leg ulcers, pressure ulcers, complex wounds, leprosy ulcers (Hansen's Disease), and other demanding wounds.

Sheep farming has been growing in Brazil, driven by an expanding consumer market due to greater acceptance of its meat and derivatives. There are several factors that limit sheep production, and one of them is infestation by ectoparasites, which cause stress in animals, weight loss, poor development, low productivity, low quality wool and reduced fertility. Chrysomya albiceps is a species of blowfly belonging to the Calliphoridae family that occurs in neotropical regions, where it causes secondary myiasis.

With omnivorous and synanthropic habits, it can serve as a host to various parasites, playing an important role in maintaining their biological cycle. Despite being a widespread and abundant species, it has a relatively little-known parasitic fauna.

This mammal has already been identified as a reservoir of several pathogenic agents for humans and other animals and has a variety of ectoparasites, endoparasites and hemoparasites little studied and described. Due to this, the objective was to report the parasitism by in in the central region of Rio Grande do Sul, southern Brazil.

Objective: Our aim was to propose a scalable architecture that allows the integration of information from different EHR systems.
Methods: A cloud-based EHR interoperable architecture is proposed through the standardization and integration of patient electronic health records.
This paper aims to explore the association between over-indebtedness and two facets of well-being - life satisfaction and emotional well-being. Although prior research has associated over-indebtedness with lower life satisfaction, this study contributes to the extant literature by revealing its effects on emotional well-being, which is a crucial component of well-being that has received less attention. Besides subjective well-being (SWB), reported health, and sleep quality were also assessed.
