Purpose Of This Research: The purpose of this research was to investigate peripheral inflammation by analyzing lymphocyte and lipoprotein-derived inflammatory ratios in patients with bipolar disorder type I (BD-I) and healthy controls (HCs), considering mood stabilizer drug treatments, sex and clinical trajectories.
Methods: This was a cross-sectional case-control study of BD-I patients (n=252) and healthy controls (n=62). We investigated peripheral inflammation biomarkers through blood count values (CBCs), lipoproteins and a complex panel of inflammatory ratios, including the neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), monocyte-to-lymphocyte ratio (MLR), platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio (PLR), systemic immune-inflammation index (SII), systemic inflammation response index (SIRI), neutrophil-to-HDL ratio (NHR), monocyte-to-HDL ratio (MHR), platelet-to-HDL ratio (PHR) and lymphocyte-to-HDL ratio (LHR).
Purpose: Studies integrating an exhaustive longitudinal long-term follow-up of postintensive care syndrome (PICS) in critically ill COVID-19 survivors are scarce. We aimed to 1) describe PICS-related sequelae over a 12-month period after intensive care unit (ICU) discharge, 2) identify relevant demographic and clinical factors related to PICS, and 3) explore how PICS-related sequelae may influence health-related quality of life (HRQoL) in critically ill COVID-19 survivors.
Methods: We conducted a prospective cohort study in adult critically ill survivors of SARS-CoV-2 infection that did or did not need invasive mechanical ventilation (IMV) during the COVID-19 pandemic in Spain (March 2020 to January 2021).
Prader-Willi syndrome (PWS) is a genetic disorder produced by a lack of expression of paternally derived genes in the 15q11-13 region. Research has generally focused on its genetic and behavioral expression, but only a few studies have examined epigenetic influences. Prenatal testosterone or the maternal testosterone-to-estradiol ratio (MaTtEr) has been suggested to play an important role in the development of the 'social brain' during pregnancy.

Background: Previous studies suggest that paliperidone might show a better profile for social functioning and cognitive abilities than risperidone. We aimed to study whether switching from risperidone to paliperidone palmitate (PP) is associated with improved cognitive abilities at 3 or 6 months after the switch.
Methods: Thirty-eight patients with a DSM-IV diagnosis of schizophrenia were studied.
Objective: To describe MDD patients starting antidepressant (AD) treatment by pharmacological approach and identify factors associated with a longer sick leave (SL) duration.
Methods: Retrospective study on IQVIA German Disease Analyser (specialists) and Spanish Longitudinal Patient Database (general practitioners and specialists). MDD patients initiating AD treatment between July 2016-June 2018 were grouped by therapeutic approach (AD monotherapy combination/switch/add-on) and their characteristics were analysed descriptively.
The aim of our study was to examine whether there are sex-based differences in the relationship between personality traits and hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis measures. A total of 106 healthy volunteers (56.6% women; age: 48.

Background: Primary care plays a central role in the treatment of depression. Nonetheless, shortcomings in its management and suboptimal outcomes have been identified. Collaborative care models improve processes for the management of depressive disorders and associated outcomes.

Seventy-six adolescents with ADHD were studied. The ADHD rating scale (ADHD-RS) and Childhood Trauma Questionnaire (CTQ) were administered.

Based on the actual Spanish legislation, patients treated with clozapine must undergo periodical haematological examinations and treatment should be reviewed when the haemogram shows either a leukocyte count of ≤ 3500/mm or neutrophil count < 2000/mm. An automatic notification system has been developed to optimize patient management and it's utility was assessed following the implementation of the new system.
