Article Synopsis
  • The study analyzed muscle fatigue and metabolic stress in well-trained men after two types of functional fitness training: strength (FFTstrength) and endurance (FFTendurance), with recovery measured at set intervals.
  • Eighteen subjects participated in both protocols, with FFTstrength involving weightlifting exercises and FFTendurance focusing on calorie-burning activities, monitored for neuromuscular fatigue and heart rates.
  • Results showed that FFTendurance effectively restored velocity loss after 15 minutes, while FFTstrength only partially recovered, indicating different recovery patterns influenced by the type of exercise and muscle groups engaged.
