This paper describes methodology based on the application of isotope dilution (ID) in single-particle inductively coupled plasma time-of-flight mass spectrometry (spICP-ToFMS) mode for the mass determination (and sizing) of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs). For this purpose, and considering that the analytical signal in spICP-MS shows a transient nature, an isotope dilution equation used for online work was adapted and used for the mass determination of individual NPs. The method proposed measures NP isotope ratios in a particle-to-particle approach, which allows for the characterization of NP mass (and size) distributions and not only the mean size of the distribution.

Providing information supported by scientific evidence in an accessible way to clinicians who are unfamiliar with the literature is necessary. Thus, this study aimed to synthesize a clinical protocol for the use of photodynamic therapy in endodontics in permanent teeth.

Side effects such as skin irritation in addition to microbial resistance to antibiotics are the main side effects found. Phototherapy with blue light is being used as an alternative treatment.

In this work, a microemulsion was formed by mixing 0.7 mL of the gasoline sample with 0.

The influence of (i) various CRC gases, (ii) gas flow rates, (iii) nanoparticle (NP) sizes and (iv) NP types was evaluated using Ag, Au and Pt NPs with both a traditional ICP-QMS instrument and a tandem ICP-mass spectrometer. It has been shown that using CRC technology brings about a significant increase in the NP signal peak width (from 0.

This study aimed to evaluate the clinical characteristics and prevalence of PLS, to estimate its impact on the quality of life and to determine its association with anxiety, depression and disability in patients at public hospitals in São Luís, MA.
Methods: Cross-sectional, descriptive and analytical study.
Objective: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of the antimicrobial photodynamic therapy (a-PDT) with blue light and curcumin on oral disinfection during the 2 h after treatment.
Background Data: a-PDT is a technique that can potentially affect the viability of bacterial cells, with selective action targeting only areas with photosensitizer accumulation.
Materials And Methods: A randomized controlled trial was undertaken.
Introduction: This study was an ex vivo evaluation of the accuracy and repeatability of 3 electronic apex locators (EALs) in locating simulated root canal perforations.
Methods: Thirty-five human teeth were used. Perforations were placed 5 mm from the apex of each specimen.
Background: Adequate passive stiffness of the hip joint can prevent the occurrence of excessive transverse plane lower limb movement during functional activities. Strength training of the hip lateral rotator muscles can be used to increase the stiffness of this joint. However, the relationship between hip joint passive stiffness and muscle strength remains undocumented in the literature.

Ten untrained normotensive women (N) and 10 mildly hypertensive females receiving 40 mg/day of propanolol (H) were selected. Three sets of 10 repetitions at 80% of 10 repetitions maximum with 30 s rest interval were performed on the leg press exercise.

Objectives: The accuracy of cone-beam technique, cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT), compared with that of the multislice spiral CT (MSCT), for image-based linear measurements of midpalatal suture was assessed.
Material And Methods: Two measurements were performed by one investigator on the dry skull by using one digital caliper and in the axial cuts by using software. A 2D object-based image registration process was applied to determine the best affine transformation that maps a 2D input image (CBCT) in a reference image (MSCT).
