Developed an analytical expression for terrace-width distribution P(s) in a system with nearest- and next-nearest-neighbor interactions by modeling it as a one-dimensional particle system.
Validated the model through numerical simulations and real experimental results, examining how interaction range affects the terrace-width distribution and pair correlation functions.
Found that including next-nearest-neighbor interactions caused only modest changes, while more distant interactions had negligible effects, and discussed techniques to extract key parameters from simulated experimental data.
