[Surgical treatment of Taussig-Bing anomaly in children in the first year of life].

The history of surgical treatment, clinical features, and main variants of correction of Taussig-Bing anomaly in children during the first year of life is briefly reviewed including original data obtained in the Department of Urgent Surgery of newborn and first-year infants, A. N. Bakulev Research Centre of Cardiovascular Surgery for the period of 2000-2006.

[Iridodiagnosis in the system of the follow-up of the health status of the population living in an area contaminated by radioactive substances].

The authors substantiate the practical employment of the iridodiagnosis screening-test using a system of archiving and visualization of the iris at the first stage of prophylactic medical examination and management. The economical and medical efficacy of the method has been established. Use of iridodiagnosis improved the detectability of pathologic conditions as compared with complex medical examination.

[Experience in using hemosorption in treating patients with rheumatoid arthritis].

Hemosorption was included in the complex treatment of 30 patients (age: 25-50 years) suffering of rheumatoid arthritis. It was found that the most sensitive laboratory tests of treatment efficacy were erythrocyte sedimentation rate, reduction of the level of gammaglobulins. Clinical improvement was pronounced as result of hemosorption treatment.

[The use of endoscopic follow-up in choosing the method of treatment of patients with peptic ulcer].

The authors report their experience with endoscopic control in the choice of adequate conservative treatment of patients with ulcer disease in the course of out- and inpatients treatment of 262 persons. It was found that the efficacy of endoscopic control rises during its performance within one year three times and more, especially in grave cases. Such dynamic endoscopic control favours reduction of the number of recurrences of the disease and its complications.
