Aims And Background: Chemoradiation using cisplatin-based regimens has become the standard care in the treatment of nasopharyngeal cancers. The impact of taxanes as radiosensitizing agents with concurrent chemoradiation regimens is unknown. We retrospectively evaluated the efficacy and tolerability of weekly cisplatin + docetaxel combination with chemoradiation in locally advanced nasopharyngeal cancers.

Materials And Methods: Six member institutions of the RCN collected clinical data on 31 patients. Treatment consisted of definitive radiotherapy in 14 patients and radical prostatectomy in 16 patients.
Matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) are frequently expressed in malignant tumors and play an important role in tumor invasion and metastasis. The aim of this study was to evaluate role of serum MMP-2 and MMP-7 levels in patients with ovarian cancer. Serum levels of MMP-2 and MMP-7 were measured in 28 patients with ovarian carcinoma, 2 with borderline ovarian tumors, 10 with non-malignant gynecological disease and 30 healthy women by Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA).
