Clinical Relevance: Refractive and ocular motor anomalies may be more prevalent among autistic adults without learning disabilities, compared to a non-autistic clinical population. In line with current guidance, optometrists should exclude these anomalies prior to prescribing tinted lenses.
Background: Autistic adults report various visual experiences with largely negative consequences on daily living.
Purpose: This study measured the time course mV̇O 2 max following both maximal and submaximal exercise.
Methods: Healthy male and female participants were tested ( n = 12 maximal and n = 8 submaximal exercise). A NIRS device was placed on the left medial gastrocnemius.
Background: ZC4H2-associated rare disorder (ZARD) is caused by pathogenic variations in the ZC4H2 gene on the X chromosome. This gene codes for a zinc finger protein involved in neural development. ZARD is characterized by highly variable symptoms, potentially influenced by the sex of the individual.

Inflammatory mediators, such as TNF-α, increase surface expression of adhesive ligands and receptors on the endothelial surface to which neutrophils tether and adhere. Neutrophils then transit through the activated endothelium to reach sites of tissue injury with little lasting vascular injury.

Determinants of participation in LV service provision must be well understood to facilitate successful service expansion. This survey aimed to investigate optometrists' professional confidence in the delivery of LV services and attitudes towards further learning.

Targeted clinician training is needed as traditional didactic training programs are limited in both their accessibility and capacity to provide opportunities for the application of theory-based learning.
Methods: This study examined the experiences of a group of clinicians involved in a multidisciplinary PedFeed ECHO® network, a virtual community of practice established to support speech pathologists, occupational therapists, dieticians, and psychologists in Queensland, Australia, working with children with pediatric feeding disorder.

Introduction/objectives: With growing vaccination misinformation and mistrust, strategies to improve vaccination communication across community-based settings are needed.
Methods: The Rural Adolescent Vaccine Enterprise (RAVE), a 5-year (2018-2022) stepped-wedge cluster randomized study, tested a clinic-based practice facilitation intervention designed to improve HPV vaccination. An exploratory aim sought to explore the use of partnerships between primary care clinics and a community partner of their choosing, to implement a social marketing campaign related to HPV immunization.
Importance: Three leading disease causes of age-related visual loss are cataract, age-related macular degeneration (AMD), and glaucoma. Although all 3 eye diseases have been implicated with falls and fracture risk, evidence is mixed, with the contribution of different eye diseases being uncertain.
Objective: To examine whether people with cataract, AMD, or glaucoma have higher risks of falls or fractures than those without.
Introduction: The role of optometrists in glaucoma within primary and secondary care has been well described. Whilst many studies examined safety and clinical effectiveness, there is a paucity of qualitative research evaluating enablers and barriers for optometrists delivering glaucoma care. The aims of this study are to investigate qualitatively, and from a multi-stakeholder perspective whether optometric glaucoma care is accepted as an effective alternative to traditional models and what contextual factors impact upon their success.

This study evaluated perceived benefits and limitations of using community paramedicine for fall prevention strategies from the lens of older adults, caregivers, and healthcare providers.
Methods: Semi-structured focus groups were held with individuals from three stakeholder groups: (1) community-dwelling older adults (age ≥60), (2) caregivers, and (3) healthcare providers.
Project ECHO is a virtual, interprofessional, cased-based peer-learning model. To date, no studies have explored ECHO as a model for pediatric feeding education. This study examined the outcomes of establishing a pediatric feeding ECHO network.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFPurpose: Clinician experience and confidence can negatively impact pediatric feeding service availability, but limited research has investigated what training allied health professionals (AHPs) need to increase these factors. This study developed and distributed a survey investigating Australian AHPs' self-reported confidence and anxiousness, training needs, factors impacting training access, and training preferences.
Method: This study was conducted over two phases.
Purpose: Human papillomavirus (HPV) infection contributes to vaccine-preventable malignancies. Rural populations experience lower HPV vaccination rates despite similar rates of other childhood vaccinations. Individual- and clinic-level characteristics likely contribute to this disparity, but little is known about the separate roles of each.

Materials And Methods: Eleven parents from eight family dyads (8 mothers, 3 fathers) with infants under 24 months of age (age range 10-24 months) recently diagnosed as at risk of CP as well as fourteen clinicians participated in this qualitative study through interviews.
Results: Parents reported conflicting emotions and grief.
A practical synthesis of 1,8-difluorofluorenone and of its (2,7)-dibromo and (2,4,5,7)-tetrabromo derivatives has been developed. Fluorinated fluorenones are the starting materials for polyhalogenated dibenzochrysenes as well as for geodesic hydrocarbons. 2,7-Dibromo-1,8-difluoro-9-fluoren-9-one was converted to 3,14-dibromo-4,13-difluorodibenzo[,]chrysene through a novel strategy.

The benefit of once-weekly basal insulin is less frequent dosing, which has the potential to reduce the barrier to injection therapy and impact patient activation, adherence and compliance, quality of life, and outcomes. Basal Insulin Fc (BIF, LY3209590, or insulin efsitora alfa) is a once-weekly basal insulin in clinical testing for type 1 and type 2 diabetes mellitus. BIF is comprised of a novel single-chain variant of insulin fused to a human IgG2 fragment crystallizable region of an antibody domain using a peptide linker.
