This study synergizes machine learning (ML) with conceptual density functional theory (CDFT) to develop OECD-compliant predictive models for the mutagenic activity of aromatic amines (AAs) with a fully No-Code methodology using a comprehensive data set of 251 AAs, Leave-One-Out-Cross-Validation (LOOCV), and three distinct data splits. Our research employs the GFN2-xTB method, known for its robustness and speed, to compute descriptors for procarcinogens and their activated metabolites in vacuum and aqueous phases. We evaluate the effectiveness of different theoretical definitions of electrophilicity within CDFT, namely, PSL, GCV, and CDP schemes, and the newly introduced Log QP descriptor to approximate Log P information.

Binder jetting 3D printing is an additive manufacturing technique based on the creation of a part through the selective bonding of powder with an adhesive, followed by a sintering process at high temperature to densify the material and produce parts with acceptable properties. Due to the high initial porosity in the material after sintering, which is typically around 5%, post-sintering treatments are often required to increase the material density and enhance the mechanical and fatigue properties of the final component. This paper focuses on the study of the benefits of hot isostatic pressing (HIP) after sintering on the mechanical and fatigue properties of a binder jetting Ti-6Al-4V alloy.

Seven novel porcine parvoviruses (nPPVs) (PPV2 through PPV8) have been described, although their pathogenicity and possible effects on porcine reproductive failure (PRF) are undefined. In this study, these nPPVs were assessed in gilts from Colombia; their coinfections with PPV1, PCV2, PCV3, PCV4, and PRRSV and an association between the nPPVs and the reproductive performance parameters (RPPs) in sows were determined. For this, 234 serum samples were collected from healthy gilts from 40 herds in five Colombian regions, and the viruses were detected via real-time PCR.

Incorporating non-hexagonal rings into polycyclic conjugated hydrocarbons (PCHs) can significantly affect their electronic and optoelectronic properties and chemical reactivities. Here, we report the first bottom-up synthesis of a dicyclohepta[a,g]heptalene-embedded PCH (1) with four continuous heptagons, which are arranged in a "Z" shape. Compared with its structural isomer bischrysene 1 R with only hexagonal rings, compound 1 presents a distinct antiaromatic character, especially the inner heptalene core, which possesses clear antiaromatic nature.

In this Letter we analyze the forces involved in the formation of the benzene excimer and its electron structure, and (anti)aromatic character. We extend our study to excited states in molecular aggregates, the triplet excimer and the benzene-tricyanobenzene exciplex. Electronic wave functions are decomposed in terms of localized excitations and ion-pair configurations through diabatization, and we show that excimer (anti)aromaticity can be described as the linear combination of ground, excited, and ionic molecular states.
