Sickle cell disease (SCD) is a life-threatening disease requiring reliable early diagnosis. We assessed the acceptability and diagnostic performances of two rapid diagnostic tests (RDTs) to identify SCD (HbSS, HbSC, HbS/β-thalassaemia) or SCD carrier (HbS/HbC) in a pilot SCD newborn screening (NBS) strategy in Mali. All consenting delivering women were offered SCD NBS using cord blood sampling on two RDTs (SickleScan® and HemotypeSC®) compared to the high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) gold standard to detect SCD states.

Objective: The objective of this study was to describe the epidemiological and clinical aspects as well as the therapeutic methods of mycetomical lesions.

Material And Methods: This was a longitudinal retrospective study, which included all patients treated for mycetoma from January 2016 to December 2018 including two years of recruitment and one year of monitoring (2019). The study concerned 19 patients who were hospitalized and treated in the department of surgery.

Cyst scar post circumcision of the stump of the prepuce is pathology of which we have not found any cases in the literature. The circumcision traditional is still practiced in our regions with its attendant complications, in particular, the high section, the whole or part of the gland, infections. The case we report concerns a patient 24 years of age, having a large cyst of 8cm diameter, evolving for the past 17 years.
