Perovskite solar cells have become the most promising third-generation solar cells because of their superior physical-chemical properties and high photoelectric conversion efficiency. However, the current obstacles to commercialization of perovskite solar cells are their poor stability and harmful elements. How to find high-efficiency, high-stability and non-toxic perovskite materials from thousands of possible perovskite crystals is the key to solve this problem.

Epstein-Barr virus-associated gastric adenosquamous carcinoma with concurrent gastric carcinoma with lymphoid stroma: a case report and review of the literature.

Background: Adenosquamous carcinoma (ASC)with concurrent gastric carcinoma with lymphoid stroma (GCLS) are extremely rare tumors. There are only limited cases reported in the literature. Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) infection was found in the concomitant GCLS, but none in the ASC.

Dose-dependent influence of red blood cell transfusion volume on adverse outcomes in cardiac surgery.

Introduction: Red blood cell (RBC) transfusion is associated with adverse outcomes, but there are few studies on the RBC volume. This study aimed to evaluate the relationship between intraoperative RBC volume and postoperative adverse outcomes for on-pump cardiac surgery.

Methods: Adult patients undergoing on-pump cardiac surgery from 1 January 2017 to 31 December 2018 were included.

Multi-omics analyses of 398 foxtail millet accessions reveal genomic regions associated with domestication, metabolite traits, and anti-inflammatory effects.

Foxtail millet (Setaria italica), which was domesticated from the wild species green foxtail (Setaria viridis), is a rich source of phytonutrients for humans. To evaluate how breeding changed the metabolome of foxtail millet grains, we generated and analyzed the datasets encompassing the genomes, transcriptomes, metabolomes, and anti-inflammatory indices from 398 foxtail millet accessions. We identified hundreds of common variants that influence numerous secondary metabolites.

Stability of Eu(III)-silicate colloids: Effect of Eu content, pH, electrolyte and fulvic acid.

Dissolved silicic acid in the environment has strong affinity for actinides (An), but An(III)-silicate colloids have been scarcely investigated. In this study, Eu(III)-silicate colloids, an analogue to An(III)-silicate, were prepared and the aggregation kinetics of the colloids was investigated as a function of Eu content (Si/Eu molar ratio), pH, background electrolyte (NaCl, NaNO, NaClO, KCl and CsCl) and fulvic acid (FA). Results indicated that the colloids with higher Si/Eu molar ratio exhibited higher stability under the same conditions.

Effects of Two Botulinum Toxin Type a Evaluated by Shear Wave Elastography and Electromyographic Measurements of Masseter Reduction.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the efficacy and safety of onabotulinumtoxin A and Chinese botulinum toxin type A (CBA) for masseter reduction using elastography and electromyographic measurement. Female subjects aged 21 to 38 years with benign masseter hypertrophy received 1 treatment of either 50 units onabotulinumtoxin A or 50 units CBA in a double-blind clinical trial. The study enrolled 102 subjects (204 sides of masseters); 51 subjects per group.

In this study, an efficient luminol-DO ECL system was developed through the complexing of Fe, Co dual single-atom catalysts (D-SACs) supported by N-doped graphene with the luminol-capped Ag nanoparticles (AgNPs).

Direct chemical modification of native antibodies in a site-specific manner remains a great challenge. Ligand-directed conjugation can achieve the selective modification of antibodies, but usually requires multiple extra steps for ligand release and cargo assembly. Herein, we report a novel, traceless strategy to enable the facile and efficient one-step synthesis of site-specific antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) by harnessing a thioester-based acyl transfer reagent.

Incidence and Risk Factors Associated with Technique Failure in the First Year of Peritoneal Dialysis: A Single Center Retrospective Cohort Study in Southern China.

Background: Technique failure is more likely to occur during the first 12 months after peritoneal dialysis (PD) initiation, which is a great challenge encountered in PD patients. The aim of this study was to investigate the incidence and risk factors associated with technique failure within the first year of PD patients in Southern China.

Methods: Incident PD patients who were followed up for at least one year at The First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University from January 1, 2006 to December 31, 2015 were included.

TPN171 is a novel phosphodiesterase-5 (PDE5) inhibitor used to treat pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) and erectile dysfunction (ED), which currently is undergoing phase II clinical trials in China. In this single-center, single-dose, nonrandomized, and open design study, radiolabeled [C]TPN171 was used to investigate the metabolic mechanism, pharmacokinetic characteristics, and clearance pathways of TPN171 in 6 healthy Chinese male volunteers. Each volunteer was administered a single oral suspension of 10 mg (100 μCi) of [C]TPN171.

Effective catalytic steam reforming of naphthalene over Ni-modified ZSM-5 via one-pot hydrothermal synthesis.

Ni-modified ZSM-5 catalysts are prepared by a one-pot hydrothermal synthesis method and applied to the steam reforming of naphthalene as a tar model compound. The effects of the reaction temperature, silica-alumina ratio (Si/Al) and metal content on the catalytic performance for reforming naphthalene are investigated. Characterization results indicate that the Ni-modified ZSM-5 catalysts maintain the original MFI structure of ZSM-5 and a portion of Ni is successfully introduced into the zeolite structure.

Ectopic mineralization refers to the deposition of mineralized complexes in the extracellular matrix of soft tissues. Hypoxia-inducible factors (HIFs) are α/β heterodimeric transcription factors modulating cellular responses to the low oxygen condition. Among three HIF-α isoforms, HIF-3α is the least studied to date. Here we show that oleoylethanolamide (OEA), a physiological lipid known to regulate food intake and metabolism, binds selectively to HIF-3α.
