This study explored the feasibility and acceptability of Entre Herman@s, a novel sibling-based intervention designed to engage siblings to increase PrEP utilization among Latino men who have sex with men (LMSM). Siblings were trained in rudimentary motivational interviewing skills to uncover, evoke, and strengthen their brother's motivation to use PrEP, using the constructs of the Information-Motivation-Behavioral Skills (IMB) model for health behavior change. We synthesized all records of archaeological/palaeontological SCIGS, conducted radiocarbon dating and stable isotope analysis of the potentially earliest SCIGS remains and performed genetic analysis of modern SCIGS.

The increasing availability of graphics processing units (GPUs) for scientific computing has prompted interest in accelerating quantum chemical calculations through their use. However, the complexity of integral kernels for high angular momentum basis functions often limits the utility of GPU implementations with large basis sets or for metal containing systems. In this work, we report the implementation of f function support in the GPU-accelerated TeraChem software package through the development of efficient kernels for the evaluation of Hamiltonian integrals.

Background: Negative dysphotopsias (ND) are visual aberrations associated with in-the-bag optic intraocular lens (IOL) placement, causing arc-shaped or linear shadows. Reverse optic capture (ROC) is employed to prevent ND, yet it poses the risk of posterior capsular opacification (PCO) which usually develops within 2-5 years post-surgery due to the lens epithelial cells (LECs) proliferation and migration onto the posterior capsule. This can lead to a cloudy or hazy appearance in the visual field.

Male infertility presents a substantial challenge in reproductive medicine, often attributed to impaired sperm motility. The present study investigates the role of CCDC28A, a protein expressed specifically in male germ cells, whose paralog CCDC28B has been implicated in ciliogenesis. We identify unique expression patterns for CCDC28A and CCDC28B within the mouse testes, where CCDC28A is expressed in germ cells, whereas CCDC28B is expressed in supporting somatic cells.

Radiological characterization related to lithology and risk assessment of bottled natural mineral water.

The enhancement of natural radioactivity in groundwater, specifically in natural mineral water, is related to the lithological formations through which water bodies or courses pass. Although natural mineral waters are exempt from monitoring for radioactive substances according to Council Directive 2013/51/EURATOM, this study focuses on the radiological characterization of natural mineral water under Spanish Royal Decree 3/2023. The water studied was taken from Catalan aquifers with different lithological characteristics (sedimentary, metamorphic or granitic) and is sold on local markets.
