Background: High-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) is a cosmetic procedure that aims to tone the skin through thermal collagen coagulation. The energy is delivered in the deep layers of the skin, and because of these characteristics, the risks of severe damage to adjacent tissue and the ocular surface may be underestimated. Introduction: Mucopolysaccharidosis (MPS) IVA or Morquio A syndrome is an autosomal recessive lysosomal storage disorder (LSD) caused by deficiency of the N-acetylgalactosamine-6-sulfatase (GALNS) enzyme, which impairs lysosomal degradation of keratan sulphate and chondroitin-6-sulphate. Introduction: Mucopolysaccharidosis (MPS) VI or Maroteaux-Lamy syndrome (253200) is an autosomal recessive lysosomal storage disorder caused by deficiency in N-acetylgalactosamine-4-sulfatase (arylsulfatase B).
