Study of inhibition of germination of potato by ethylene.

In Canada, the potato () is by far the most cultivated vegetable and plays a major nutritional role. However, during storage, the potato can easily undergo germination. In this study we have shown the inhibition potential of ethylene as an anti-germinative agent acting especially on phenols.

Mass spectrometry - based imaging techniques for iodine-127 and iodine-129 detection and localization in the brown alga Laminaria digitata.

I is one of the main radioisotopes of iodine derived from the nuclear fuel cycle that can be found sustainably in the environment due to its long half-life. In coastal marine environment, brown macroalgae, such laminariales (or kelps), are known to naturally feature highest rates of iodine accumulation, and to be an important source of biogenic volatile iodinated compounds released to the atmosphere. These seaweeds are therefore likely to be significantly marked by but also potential vectors of radioactive iodine.

Direct characterization of polyurethanes and additives by atmospheric solid analysis probe with time-of-flight mass spectrometry (ASAP-TOF-MS).

Because of the wide range of formulations, polyurethanes (PURs) are among the most used copolymers. According to their applications, the nature and concentration of the monomers, as well as the additives, are adjusted. As copolymer, this material is difficult to characterize directly by mass spectrometry without sample pretreatment.

Quantification of target proteins using hydrogel antibody arrays and MALDI time-of-flight mass spectrometry (A2M2S).

Mass spectrometry-based analysis techniques are widely applied in proteomics. This study presents a novel method for quantitative multiplex candidate protein profiling. It applies immunocapture of differentially labeled protein complements on hydrogel antibody arrays and subsequent quantification by MS.
