Impact of emulsifiers for the nanoencapsulation with maltodextrin of cannabis oil by spray drying on the physicochemical properties and bioaccessibility of cannabinoids.

Our study aimed to investigate the impact of various emulsifiers, namely whey protein isolate (WPI), soy protein isolate (SPI), and Tween 80 (Tw), on their ability to encapsulate cannabis oil with maltodextrin as the wall material. The physicochemical properties of the powder, the stability of the cannabinoids, and their bioaccessibility during static digestion were examined. The average diameter of fat globules in liquid nanoemulsions was 170, 259, and 95 nm for WPI, SPI, and Tw, respectively.

Behavioural interventions delivered through interactive social media for health behaviour change, health outcomes, and health equity in the adult population.

Background: Social networking platforms offer a wide reach for public health interventions allowing communication with broad audiences using tools that are generally free and straightforward to use and may be combined with other components, such as public health policies. We define interactive social media as activities, practices, or behaviours among communities of people who have gathered online to interactively share information, knowledge, and opinions.

Objectives: We aimed to assess the effectiveness of interactive social media interventions, in which adults are able to communicate directly with each other, on changing health behaviours, body functions, psychological health, well-being, and adverse effects.

Integrating Engagement and Improvement Work in a Pediatric Hospital.

Although geared towards a common goal - improved patient-centred care - quality improvement strategies and patient engagement-focused approaches are often developed and conducted in silos. The lack of integration may lead, on the one hand, to the uptake of patient suggestions that do not always take into consideration implications for the delivery of quality care and, on the other hand, to inadequate understanding of patient views required to create optimal services. The Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO)'s action plans to address gaps in patient engagement and quality improvement, two of its priority areas, were initially carried out in isolation of each other.

Health policy roundtable: producing and adapting research syntheses for use by health-system managers and public policymakers.

Growing demand for evidence-based information to inform health care policy and management decisions has inspired new methods for synthesizing relevant information and strategies. This roundtable provides a rationale for the science of synthesizing useful knowledge, including leading-edge initiatives from the United States and Canada.

Synthesis and structure--activity relationship of novel aminotetralin derivatives with high micro selective opioid affinity.

Several novel racemic aminotetralin derivatives have been prepared using a stereoselective aziridine ring opening reactions and were evaluated for their micro-opioid receptor binding affinity. Selectivity index towards other opioid receptors and antinociceptive activity in mice have been evaluated for the most potent derivatives.
