Teacher Resilience During COVID-19: Comparing Teachers' Shift to Online Learning in South Africa and the United States.

The Covid-19 pandemic created the largest global disruption of education in recorded history. This unique qualitative study examined teacher resilience as they taught remotely with technology during the pandemic, and the experiences of teachers with a comparison across a developed country (US) with a developing country (South Africa). Data from a teacher resilience survey was gathered to explore factors of teacher resilience and interview data provided insight into teacher experiences.

An alternative model of prescribing stoma appliances.

The NHS is challenged with making efficiency savings of pounds 20 billion by 2015. In order to achieve a target of this magnitude, commissioners, clinicians and patients are required to work together to evaluate current service delivery and explore all options which have the potential to increase efficiency. This article describes the significant service redesign work undertaken in Rotherham by commissioners, clinicians and patients which has improved the way in which prescriptions are issued to patients requiring stoma products.

Efficacy and safety of OK-432 immunotherapy of lymphatic malformations.

Objectives: To determine the efficacy and safety of the immunostimulant OK-432 (Picibanil) as a treatment option in the management of children with cervicofacial lymphatic malformations.

Spastic diplegia and other motor disturbances in infants receiving interferon-alpha.

Objective: To determine how frequently the use of -interferon (-IFN) is associated with the development of spastic diplegia.

Study Design And Methods: Meta-analysis of 600 English manuscripts published January 1991 to June 2002 reporting -IFN use in infants/children. We identified 3,113 children 18 years of age or younger and an estimated 3,055 children 12 years of age or younger who received -IFN therapy.

Alpha,alpha-disubstituted boron enolates in the asymmetric synthesis of quaternary carbon centers.

[reaction: see text] Reduction of alpha,alpha-disubstituted thioglycolate amides with lithium di-tert-butylbiphenylide affords alpha,alpha-disubstituted enolates with high Z/E selectivity. Transmetalation of the enolates with dicyclohexylboron bromide facilitates highly diastereoselective aldol reaction with aromatic and alpha,beta-unsaturated aldehydes.

The development of a nurse-led angina management programme.

The anxiety caused by living with angina can be very debilitating and affects patients' quality of life. In one trust an angina management programme was set up to provide educational and psychosocial support, with an emphasis on cardiac risk factor modification. Regular monitoring of patients at nurse-led clinics and multidisciplinary teamwork were important elements.

Treatment of lymphangiomas with OK-432 (Picibanil) sclerotherapy: a prospective multi-institutional trial.

Objective: To describe and to determine the robustness of our study evaluating the efficacy of OK-432 (Picibanil) as a therapeutic modality for lymphangiomas.

Design And Setting: Prospective, randomized trial and parallel-case series at 13 US tertiary care referral centers.

Subjects: Thirty patients diagnosed as having lymphangioma.
