Article Synopsis
  • Ideomotor theory suggests that our actions are influenced by the perceptual effects we associate with them, meaning we learn to anticipate the outcomes of our actions.
  • Researchers developed a computational model called IDEONAMIC to simulate and analyze how we control and direct our actions based on these effect associations.
  • The IDEONAMIC model has shown promise in experimental settings, providing valuable insights and predictions about action control mechanisms, and the team encourages further exploration across varying ideomotor scenarios.
