[Adherence to the Clinical Practice Guidelines for the hospital management of patients with decompensated heart failure in a Coronary Care Unit in Colombia].

Objective: To assess adherence to the recommendations for the diagnosis and management of hospitalized patients with Decompensated Heart Failure issued by the European Society of Cardiology in 2021 at a Coronary Care Unit at a fourth-level hospital in the city of Bogotá.

Materials And Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted, including hospitalized patients in the Coronary Care Unit at Hospital San José in Bogotá, with a primary diagnosis of Decompensated Heart Failure, from September 2021 to January 2023. Patient data were collected from medical records.

Background: Chagas cardiomyopathy (CC) increases cardiovascular mortality associated with congestive heart failure (CHF), ventricular arrhythmias (VA), and sudden cardiac death (SCD). Different imaging techniques have been tested to assess disease progression and cardiac risk in individuals with Chagas disease (ChD). In this systematic review, we evaluated the accuracy in detecting cardiac complications in CC patients using cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) and speckle tracking echocardiography (STE).

Coronary calcium in autoimmune diseases: A systematic literature review and meta-analysis.

Background And Aims: Autoimmune diseases (AID) share various clinical signs and symptoms and pathophysiological mechanisms including the increased risk of cardiovascular disease. The coronary artery calcium score (CACS) is potentially useful in improving the cardiovascular risk assessment. The aim of this study was to evaluate CACS in six AIDs analyzed as a group compared with controls through a systematic literature review (SLR) and meta-analysis.
