Switch/Sucrose Non-Fermentable (SWI/SNF) Complex-Partial Loss in Sinonasal Squamous Cell Carcinoma: A High-Grade Morphology Impact and Progression.

Unlabelled: Sinonasal carcinomas are aggressive neoplasms that present a high morbidity and mortality rate with an unfavorable prognosis. This group of tumors exhibits morphological and genetic diversity. Genetic and epigenetic alterations in these neoplasms are the current targets for diagnosis and treatment.

[Large B-cell lymphoma coexisting with Castleman's disease. Report of one case].

We report a 73-year-old female patient with Castleman's disease coexistent with large B cell type non-Hodgkin's lymphoma in a right axillary lymphadenopathy. An excisional biopsy was performed: microscopically, the lymph node revealed the presence of numerous plasma cells and small lymphoid cells characteristic of Castleman's disease. An analysis of another portion of the specimen revealed lymphoid cells with large abnormal nuclei gathered locally that were CDD 79+, CD 38+ and MUM-1+ as well as positive for Kaposi sarcoma-associated herpesvirus and negative for Epstein Barr virus encoded RNA-1 (EBER).

[Castleman disease. Histopathological and immunohistochemical analysis of 39 cases].

Introduction: Castleman disease (CD) is a rare lymphoproliferative that comprises two distinct clinical subtypes (unicentric and multicentric) and has two basic histopathology patterns that are hyaline-vascular (HV) and plasma-cell (PC) type. Some cases of multicentric PC disease are associated with HHV-8 infection.

Objective: To present the histopathologic and immunohistochemical characteristics of 39 cases of CD.

Giant-cell ependymoma: Presentation of a case of the sacral region and literature review.

Ependymoma is a rare central nervous system neoplasm with an even rarer morphologic variant called giant-cell ependymoma (GCE). GCE has a characteristic discrepant, malignant-like morphology but indolent behavior. We present the case of a 21-year-old female with an extra-axial GCE located in the sacral region.
